Honda Elevate (2023-2026) Mileage

Autocar score
8

₹11.81 - ₹16.78 Lakh

Last recorded price

Discontinued on Oct 2026

Honda Elevate (2023-2026) mileage is certified by ARAI at 15.31kpl with the manual gearbox and 16.92kpl with the CVT automatic. Our own testing returned 10.8kpl from the CVT and 11kpl from the manual, so the real-world figures sit well below the certified ones and in the reverse order.

Which model fits my driving:

  • The manual returned slightly more than the automatic in our hands at 11kpl, which is the opposite of what the certified figures suggest.

  • Our review put the shortfall down to the sharp throttle response and the short gearing, both of which make the car pleasant to drive but push fuel use up.

  • If running cost is your priority, how you drive this car will matter more than which gearbox you buy.

  • The CVT suits city traffic where it is smooth and easy, and its certified 16.92kpl is the higher of the two.

  • There is no diesel, hybrid or CNG option, so all variants are petrol.

I am 6 feet 3 inches tall and I’ve been struggling to fit in a car in which I can sit comfortably without the steering wheel hitting my knees. I drove a Tata Zest for 11 years and have recently sold it. With a tight budget of Rs. 18 - 20 lakh (on-road) , I need a good car for my everyday office drive with good fuel efficiency. I drive around 20 km up and down everyday mostly within the city. Please suggest a good car that I can try out.

At 6ft 3in, your first priority should be finding a car with a genuinely comfortable driving position, rather than choosing purely on features or fuel economy. The Honda Elevate is one of the cars worth trying first because it has excellent driver ergonomics, a spacious pedal box and a wide range of seat adjustment. The 1.5 petrol CVT is smooth and well suited to a short daily commute, while the Elevate has a comfortable ride and 220mm of ground clearance. The Kia Seltos 1.5 petrol IVT is another option, with a spacious cabin and comfortable ride, although taller drivers may find the front seat thigh support a little short.Given your specific problem with the steering wheel hitting your knees, do not buy any car without spending at least 15 to 20 minutes in the driver's seat. Set the seat properly, adjust the steering for reach and height, and check that you can fully depress the pedals without your knees coming close to the steering wheel.

Hello, this is Dilip. I’m planning to buy my first car for myself and my parents. I’m 30 years old and am looking for a car under Rs. 20 lakh, preferably with a manual transmission, that offers excellent long-term reliability, low maintenance and ownership costs as well as good safety and build quality. I need a car comfortable for my parents and family with a good driving experience in both city traffic and highways. It should offer good mileage and overall practicality. Suggest me a car that I can confidently keep for 8-10 years. Please suggest the best options based on these requirements and explain both pros and cons of each car.

Go for the Honda Elevate manual. It is the most sensible choice for your requirements. Honda’s naturally aspirated petrol engine is proven, reliable and efficient, and the manual gearbox is smooth and easy to use in both city traffic and on highways. The Elevate is also comfortable for family use, with a spacious cabin and a well-balanced ride, and Honda’s ownership experience is among the best in the segment. It is a car you can confidently keep for 8-10 years without worrying about major reliability or maintenance issues. If you want a slightly more premium feel and a bit more space, the Kia Seltos petrol manual is a good alternative. It offers a more feature-rich cabin and a more premium overall experience, but it is also more expensive and does not offer a significant reliability advantage over the Elevate. Alternatively, consider the Maruti Suzuki Victoris petrol manual. Its powertrain is smooth and efficient and Maruti’s service network is unmatched. Overall, the Honda Elevate manual strikes the best balance between reliability, comfort, safety, driving experience and long-term ownership confidence.

I’m planning to buy my first car in Bengaluru, with a maximum on-road budget of Rs 13 lakh. My usage will be around 60% city and 40% highway, and I’m considering the Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate in their base variants, along with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi and Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5. I plan to keep the car for around 10 years, so I’m looking for something that offers good mileage, low maintenance and reliable long-term ownership. Which of these would be the best overall choice?

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi. With a Rs 13 lakh on-road budget and a 10-year ownership plan, the Brezza is the most sensible choice. It is reliable, easy to maintain, and Maruti's service network is excellent, which is important for long-term ownership. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is efficient and well-suited to your 60-40 city-highway usage, and the car is comfortable enough for regular highway runs. The ZXi variant is well-equipped, so you are not compromising on features either. The Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate base models are good cars, but at this budget you are getting entry-level variants with fewer features, and the ownership experience will not feel as complete. The Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 is a strong value proposition with more features, but Mahindra's long-term ownership experience is not as proven as Maruti's, and the Brezza is the safer bet for a 10-year ownership horizon. The Brezza is not the most exciting car to drive, but it is the most dependable and cost-effective choice for your requirements.

I am planning to buy a new crossover within a month and want to keep it for four to five years. My priorities are good resale value, decent highway acceleration and mileage. My budget is Rs 15-17.5 lakh, and I am considering only cars with a DCT, torque-converter, CVT or IVT automatic. I have shortlisted the Skoda Kushaq Signature, Hyundai Creta S(O), Kia Seltos HTK and Honda Elevate VX. I am also considering waiting for the new Elevate facelift in October. I was thinking of waiting for the Creta facelift as well, but it will take a few more months. I expect to drive 60% in the city, with occasional highway trips. I want a car that performs well on the highway, offers good overtaking ability and delivers decent mileage. I have driven Honda and Volkswagen sedans abroad. Which car would be the better fit for my needs?

Based on your requirements, the Skoda Kushaq Signature 1.0 TSI with the 8-speed torque converter automatic is the best fit. It offers strong mid-range performance for highway overtakes, a proven and reliable powertrain, and a driving experience that will feel familiar and engaging given your experience with VW group cars abroad. The torque converter automatic is smooth and well-suited to your 60% city usage, while still delivering the punch you want on the highway. This Skoda car also sits comfortably within your budget and is available immediately, which is important given your one-month timeline. The Hyundai Creta S(O) IVT and Kia Seltos HTK IVT are both excellent alternatives if you prioritise refinement and a more premium cabin experience. The IVT gearbox is exceptionally smooth in the city, but the naturally aspirated petrol engine does not offer the same mid-range punch as the Kushaq for highway overtakes. The Honda Elevate VX CVT is the most reliable long-term ownership proposition, but again, the naturally aspirated engine is not as strong on the highway.Waiting for the Elevate facelift in October is a reasonable option if you are not in a hurry, but the changes are expected to be incremental rather than transformative.Overall, the Kushaq Signature 1.0 TSI torque converter strikes the best balance between performance, reliability, driving enjoyment and immediate availability. It will deliver the highway performance you want while remaining easy to live with in the city.

I drive around 6,000-7,000 km a year, but I’m not happy with the mileage of my Tata Altroz DCT. It averages only around 10 km/l, and with E20 petrol becoming more common, fuel costs are becoming increasingly challenging. What options or alternatives would you suggest?

Verified
•3w

With 6,000-7,000 km a year, the fuel cost is a concern, but the running is not high enough to justify a diesel car or a hybrid purely on savings. The Tata Altroz DCT’s 10 km/l is on the lower side, and E20 will reduce efficiency slightly, but the bigger issue is likely the DCT itself. Dual-clutch gearboxes are not the most efficient in stop-start city driving, and the Altroz’s DCT is not the most refined or efficient example either. The simplest solution is to move to a naturally aspirated petrol engine with a torque converter, IVT, or CVT automatic. These gearboxes are smoother in traffic and generally more efficient in real-world conditions. Cars like the Honda Elevate CVT will deliver better efficiency and a more relaxed driving experience. If you are open to a manual, a naturally aspirated petrol with a manual gearbox will be even more efficient.Hybrid cars like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid or Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid are the most efficient option, but at your running, the payback period is long. They make sense if you want the lowest possible fuel cost per kilometre, but not as a purely financial decision.
