The Honda Elevate (2023-2026) range covers 11 variants, with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine offered across the range. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual and a CVT, depending on the variant.

The base model Petrol SV MT gets the 1.5-litre petrol with the six-speed manual gearbox. The range then moves up through variants with additional comfort, convenience and technology features.

The top model Petrol ADV Edition CVT combines the highest equipment level with the CVT automatic and gets the most comprehensive feature list in the range.

Which Variant You Should Pick :

  • The Petrol SV MT is the more sensible pick for buyers who are comfortable with a manual gearbox and want to keep the purchase cost lower. It gets the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as the CVT, so there is no difference in power or torque.

  • The Petrol ADV Edition CVT makes more sense for buyers who primarily drive in the city. Its CVT automatic is easier to use in stop-and-go traffic and is the better choice for those who prioritise convenience over the lower cost of the manual.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a reliable automatic upgrade for my parents. My budget is strictly capped at Rs. 17 lakh (on-road, Hyderabad). The lower, the better. I will be selling our 2019 Ford Figo Titanium petrol manual. Our use case & priorities: Primary drivers: My parents Usage: We live on the outskirts, so the car will see mixed usage, mostly in mild traffic. Priorities: Low maintenance, low running costs, and a hassle-free, smooth driving experience. Shortlisted options: Honda Amaze ZXi CVT, Honda Elevate V CVT, Maruti Brezza ZXi AT, maybe Mahindra XUV 3XO

With your requirement of keeping the purchase cost as low as possible while also getting something reliable, go for the Honda Amaze CVT. The CVT is smooth, the car is easy to drive, and Honda’s ownership experience is among the best in the segment. It will also be the most affordable option on your shortlist, which fits your budget constraint perfectly. It should be more than sufficient for your parents and their usage, but bear in mind, it's not much larger than the Figo they're moving from, so it may not feel like as much of an upgrade. Also, make sure entering and exiting the vehicle are not an issue for them, as it is quite low-slung.The Elevate CVT is the largest vehicle here, and as such gives a bit more space and comfort than the others, and it meets your other requirements, but if you're locked in on the V CVT variant, it might feel a bit barebones. The V CVT is well within your Rs 17 lakh budget, so consider going up a variant, as that would make it worth your while. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, however, might be your best bet. The ZXi AT is great value for money; efficiency and hassle-free ownership are Maruti hallmarks, and the 6-speed AT gearbox is as smooth, if not smoother, than Honda's CVT. It's compact enough to be easy to drive, yet almost as spacious as the Elevate, with easy ingress and egress. We feel this will be the best fit for your parents.

Which automatic SUV car is best for new driver who does not have much confidence? Is CVT transmission will be good in such case and does it come with a light steering. I am planning to buy Honda elevate CVT but it is bit lengthier. Is the steering of Honda elevate light enough for traffic?

The Honda Elevate CVT is actually a very good choice for a new driver who is not very confident. The CVT automatic is extremely smooth and easy to drive, with no perceptible gear changes, which makes it very forgiving in stop-start traffic. The steering is also light at low speeds, making it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces and heavy traffic. The only concern you have is the length, but the Elevate is not excessively long for its segment and visibility is good, so it should not be a major issue once you get used to the car.If you are still concerned about size, you could consider the Maruti Suzuki Brezza automatic. It is more compact, has light steering and is very easy to drive in the city. Overall, the Elevate CVT remains a strong recommendation. It is easy to drive, reliable and confidence-inspiring. If size is a major concern, the Brezza auto is the best alternative.

Hi, I have booked the current Honda Elevate V CVT for Rs 15 lakh on-road. Is it a good deal? Should I wait for the new facelift? I have also seen reports of poor NVH in the Elevate. Is there any way to reduce road and tyre noise inside the current Elevate's cabin?

Verified

Yes, the Honda Elevate V CVT at Rs 15 lakh on-road is a good deal. The Elevate is a well-rounded SUV with Honda’s reputation for reliability, a smooth CVT and a comfortable ownership experience. The V variant is well-equipped, and the price you have secured is competitive. On the facelift, Honda will launch the updated Elevate on October 6th, but do not expect a major overhaul. It will likely be a mild update with some feature additions and minor cosmetic tweaks. The core mechanical package will remain unchanged. If you need the car now, there is no strong reason to wait.On NVH, the Elevate does let in more road and tyre noise than some rivals. You can reduce it to some extent with better tyres (look for softer compound, lower noise-rated tyres) and aftermarket damping on the doors and wheel wells. However, do not expect a dramatic transformation. It will help, but the Elevate is not the quietest car in the segment to begin with.Overall, if you like this Honda car and the deal, go ahead.

I am confused between Creta SX IVT and Elevate CVT for 8000 km of annual running with long trips of 1200 km 3-4 times in a year for a family of 4. Apart from this, day to day usage is less than 100km per month. I am looking for a car for long term ownership and travel comfort.

The Creta SX IVT is the better fit for your requirement. It offers a quieter, more refined cabin, comfortable rear seats and a smoother CVT, which are particularly valuable when spending several hours on the highway with four people and luggage. Autocar's long term experience with the Creta petrol IVT also found it refined, comfortable and particularly well suited to road trips. The Honda Elevate CVT has advantages of its own. Its 220mm ground clearance, long travel suspension and large 458-litre boot make it particularly good on poor roads, while its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and CVT make for a relatively simple powertrain. However, the cabin is noticeably noisier, particularly when accelerating hard, and the CVT can produce the typical rubber band effect.

I have booked the Honda Elevate V CVT, and the final deal I got is Rs 14.5 lakh. Should I go for it?

Verified

Yes, go for it. The Honda Elevate V CVT at Rs 14.5 lakh is a solid deal. The Elevate is a simple, reliable and fuss-free SUV with a proven naturally aspirated petrol engine and a smooth CVT automatic, making it an excellent choice for long-term ownership. Honda’s reputation for reliability and low maintenance costs adds to its appeal, and the V variant comes well equipped with the essentials you need. The only thing to keep in mind is that the Elevate facelift is launching next week, so if you are not in a hurry, it may be worth waiting to see what updates Honda brings. Otherwise, this is a sensible and dependable choice that you are unlikely to regret.
