Since its launch in July this year, the Citroen C3 range has only offered a manual gearbox, and variants that are quite light on features. Missing, for instance, are bits like a rear wash and wipe system.

This lack of some key equipment has been much to the bewilderment of consumers and the media alike. Now, though, it appears that the carmaker has paid heed to the feedback.

    1. C3 to get rear wiper, washer
    2. Likely to get alloy wheels as standard fitment

Seen in new spy shots are a rear wiper and wash system, a rear defogger and a set of alloy wheels on the C3. Currently, alloy wheels are a dealer-fit option. Thus, as it appears, the C3 is all set to get some added equipment and it's possible there could be new kit on the inside too.

It is not clear how these new features would arrive; Citroen could add them to the current two variants, or it could also introduce a third new top-spec trim. Currently, the C3 is sold in two variants called Live and Feel. The lower Live variant comes with the option of the 1.2-litre, 82hp naturally aspirated engine as well as the 110hp, turbo-charged version, whereas the higher-spec Feel variant comes with only the turbo motor.

Given the current positioning of the C3 along with its pricing, Citroen would do well to offer these features at a minimal price hike. The C3 is currently priced from Rs 5.88 lakh for the starting variant going up to Rs 8.15 lakh to the top-end turbo Feel variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). Key rivals to the C3 include the Tata Punch and the lower variants of the Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite.
