I currently ride a well-maintained 2017 Avenger Street 220 Matte Black, chosen mainly for its low saddle height since I’m 5'2". I now want to upgrade but am unsure which bike will suit my height. I need something reliable, long-lasting, and suitable for daily use.

If you want to stick to the cruiser format, we would recommend the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 (seat height: 765mm) and the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 (seat height: 750mm).

Do bear in mind that these bikes - while fairly low - weigh close to 200kg, so you will need some time to adjust to their weights. If you're open to another form factor - more specifically, a sporty-looking street naked - we would steer you toward the Honda CB300F

That's because with its light 153kg weight and approachable 789mm seat height, it will be a very manageable bike.

Take a test ride of everything you shortlist before making the final decision.

I am 57 years old, about 5'2" tall and weigh around 60 kg. I plan to buy a new bike in April 2026. My daily city ride is 22–25 km in dense traffic, and I take occasional long rides of about 300 km to my native place. My budget is ₹1.5–2 lakh. Please suggest a bike suitable for my height, weight, and city riding conditions. Thank you.

Since you have some highway usage, we would recommend something like the Bajaj Pulsar N250 or the Honda CB300F.

Both can hold a steady 80-90 kmph without their engines feeling strained. Another option you could look at is the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, if you’re open to owning an RE.

All three are good to use inside the city, although expect relatively lower fuel economy on the Hunter than the Pulsar or CB300F.

I currently own a TVS Jupiter and travel around 50 km daily, with 50% highway and 50% bumper-to-bumper traffic. Please suggest a bike with modern looks and a decent mileage of 35–40 kmpl. My height is 5.6 ft.

Keeping your requirements in mind, a 250-300cc sporty commuter like the Bajaj Pulsar N250, Suzuki Gixxer 250 or Honda CB300F will be a good fit. All three have modern looks, the required fuel efficiency you desire and will strike a good balance between city and highway duties.

I am 5'5" tall, slim built, and weigh around 60 kg. My inseam length is about 32 inches. I have been riding a TVS Ntorq 125 scooter for the past seven years and have never ridden a bike before. Please suggest a suitable first bike for city riding, preferably above 125cc but below 350cc. I tried the Hunter 350 but found it heavy, and I had to stretch my arms and lean forward to feel confident, so I dropped the idea. Please help. Thanks.

Given that you want something manageable and this will be your first bike, here are a few options we recommend.

The Honda CB300F and CB300R are both lightweight, well-built, and have low seat heights. You could also check out the KTM 250 Duke or the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. Both are mechanically identical, but they differ in styling and riding posture, the Vitpilen has a slightly taller seat than the Duke.

All these are fun and entertaining first bike with a reasonable performance ceiling to keep you interested for a long time.

I’m 5'4" tall and planning to upgrade my bike for office commutes and occasional highway rides. My priorities are comfort, safety features, and low weight. I’m not a spirited rider, and while I have no restrictions on cubic capacity or budget, weight is a key concern as I’m over 40 with a disc prolapse.

Since budget and engine size aren’t concerns, and considering your physical condition, we recommend the Kawasaki 650 range - Z650, Ninja 650, or Z650RS. All three are easy to handle in the city and powerful enough for highway use. Their plush suspension setups will also help with your back issues.
If you want something that's not as big as the Kawasaki 650s, you can take a look at either of the Honda 300s - CB300F and CB300R. Both are lightweight machines with low seat heights as well as comfy suspension setups.
