I currently ride a Bajaj Platina 100, and my daily run is around 150 km. I’m looking to upgrade to a bike with better mileage and improved comfort, especially since I’m 5′ 11″ tall. Could you suggest suitable upgrade options?

A good upgrade without sacrificing mileage from your 100cc Platina would be something in the 150-160cc space, like the Bajaj Pulsar N160TVS Apache RTR 160 4VSuzuki GixxerHonda Unicorn/SP160, or the Yamaha FZ lineup. If you want to go beyond that, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0 or Bajaj Pulsar NS200 will fit the bill. Take a long test ride to see which option suits you best.

My daily commute to the office is under 10 km, and I occasionally do road trips of 50–60 km. I previously rode my father’s Hero Honda Splendor Plus. I’m planning to buy a new bike with a budget of ₹1.5 lakh. Which bike should I get?

A 150-160cc sporty commuter like the Bajaj Pulsar N160 or TVS Apache RTR 160 4V would be an ideal step up and will fit the bill for your sort of usage. If you want something more traditional, then the Honda Unicorn / SP160 would be our recommendation.

I’m an amateur rider and haven’t ridden bikes much. I learned on a Honda Shine and have done some basic local rides. I’m planning to buy a bike, but I'm confused between models with strong road presence like Royal Enfield or Honda CB/Highness series, and those under 200cc that offer better mileage and are more suitable for city rides. My daily use would be around 50 km within the city. Please suggest a suitable option.

If you’re not entirely confident about your riding skills, we wouldn’t recommend heavier bikes like the Royal Enfield 350s or the Honda CB350 models, as they can be difficult to handle for a newcomer.
A good beginner-friendly option would be something in the 150/160cc sporty commuter space, such as the Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda Unicorn/SP160, or Yamaha FZ models.
These bikes are relatively light, have at least single-channel ABS (some offer dual-channel), and should provide a good safety net while allowing you some leeway to grow into them.

Could you please suggest a bike under ₹3 lakh for city use? My daily rides are around 6-10 km, and I’m looking for good rider and pillion comfort.

Considering your limited usage and prioritizing comfort, bikes under ₹3 lakh that meet your needs include the Royal Enfield Classic/Bullet 350, any of the 3 Honda CB350 models, and the Hero Xpulse 210.
In fact, any of the straightforward 150cc commuters from Honda, like the Unicorn and the SP160, or other reputable makes, will also serve you well while being easier to buy and more affordable to run, too.
