Volkswagen Tera Mileage

The Volkswagen Tera will use the Skoda Kylaq’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, but its official mileage figures have not yet been confirmed. The SUV will be offered with manual and eight-speed automatic gearbox options, and Volkswagen is expected to announce its claimed fuel efficiency closer to launch.

However, since the Tera shares its mechanicals with the Skoda Kylaq, the latter’s figures can be used as a rough reference for what to expect. The Skoda Kylaq is rated at 19.68kpl for the manual and 19.05kpl for the automatic (ARAI figures). In real-world testing, the Kylaq manual returned 10.6kpl in the city and 15.12kpl on the highway, averaging 12.86kpl. The automatic version delivered 8.7kpl in the city and 13.36kpl on the highway, with an overall average of 11.03kpl.

These figures provide a useful indication of the kind of efficiency the Volkswagen Tera may offer once it is launched.
