Why Prices Change From The Base Model To The Top Model?
The Skoda Kylaq is offered in seven trims: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Sportline, Prestige and Prestige+. All variants use the same 115hp, 178Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic. The price difference comes down to the equipment on offer, with the automatic gearbox available from the Classic+ trim onwards.
- Classic: The entry-level variant gets six airbags, electronic stability control, LED headlamps, automatic climate control and rear parking sensors. However, it misses out on an infotainment system.
- Classic+: Adds a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and additional audio speakers. It is also the most affordable way to get the automatic gearbox.
- Signature: Adds a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear AC vents, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear wiper and washer.
- Signature+: Gets a larger 10-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear parking camera, keyless entry and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat. It is the variant Autocar India recommends for its balance of features and price.
- Sportline: Adds a sportier appearance with black 17-inch alloy wheels, black exterior detailing, aluminium pedals, Sportline seat upholstery, LED projector headlamps and a wireless phone charger.
- Prestige: Adds ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps and a wireless phone charger.
- Prestige+: Tops the range with six-way electrically adjustable front seats, adding convenience over the Prestige.
For most buyers, the Signature+ is the variant to consider, as it brings the larger touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and wireless smartphone connectivity without requiring the additional outlay for the top trims. Buyers on a tighter budget can consider the Signature, while those who want ventilated front seats should look at the Prestige.

Skoda Kylaq FAQs
Questions you may find useful
I am looking to buy an automatic midsize SUV for my parents. They drive about 30km a day in the city, with occasional highway trips. I am considering the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Skoda Kylaq and Tata Nexon. Which of these would be the right choice in terms of comfort, safety, reliability, driving experience and value for money?
Go for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The 1.5 engine comes with a torque converter automatic, which is the smoothest type of gearbox to have, especially in city traffic. The low-speed ride on the Brezza is also very plush, and the comfy seats will keep your parents comfortable during their commute. The Brezza also meets your requirements of reliability and safety. The Skoda Kylaq is also a good option. It also comes with a torque convertor gearbox and would be better in terms of driving pleasure on the few highway trips you'll do. However in the city the Brezza's naturally aspirated engine is easier to manage compared to the turbocharged Kylaq engine which does have some amount of lag.
I am planning to buy an automatic car in Bangalore. I have shortlisted the Skoda Kylaq AT (torque-converter automatic) and Tata Punch AMT. My usage involves 80% running on highway and 20% within the city. I take one long distance trip of around 800 km (up and down) every quarter. I prefer petrol cars with automatic transmission. Please compare both cars in terms of real-world highway and city mileage, highway comfort, ride quality and driver fatigue during long trips. It should have good safety ratings and safety features. I am also concerned about engine performance and highway overtaking capability. Please guide me about a car and its on-road price in Bangalore. It should be a value for money car which has affordable service costs, maintenance and long-term reliability. Expected monthly and annual fuel expenses are based on my driving pattern. Finally, recommend the single best car for my needs, explaining which model and variant offer the best balance of mileage, safety, comfort and ownership costs.
Go for the Skoda Kylaq 1.0 TSI automatic. Your usage is 80% highway with regular 800 km round trips, so you need a car that is comfortable at speed, stable on the highway and easy to live with over long distances. The Kylaq’s 1.0 TSI turbo petrol engine is punchy and overtaking is effortless, while the new 8-speed torque converter automatic is smooth and reliable. The Punch, with its compact dimensions, is a good city car, but won't feel as stable and planted on the highway. Moreover, the AMT gearbox is not as smooth and the naturally aspirated engine lacks the punch you need for quick overtakes.Service costs for Skoda have improved in recent years and are broadly comparable to Tata, but neither brand is up to the high water mark set by the likes of Maruti or Toyota when it comes to overall service experience. As for fuel efficiency, the less powerful and naturally aspirated Tata has the advantage overall, and the TSI engine of the Skoda is highly sensitive to your driving style. However, given your use is largely on the highway, the gap in numbers shortens considerably, and you'll appreciate the added punch of the Skoda.Overall, the Punch, which sits in a lower segment compared to the Kylaq, also feels that way, and if you're prepared to stretch for a Kylaq AT, we recommend doing so, as it is the superior vehicle overall.
I need a second car with a maximum budget of Rs 13.5 lakh (on-road). My top priorities are performance and driving feel. I am confused between the Hyundai i20 N Line and the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ (both automatics). Which one is better for pure driving pleasure, given my running split is 70% highway and 30% city?
Both models on your shortlist are enjoyable cars to drive. The Skoda Kylaq feels punchy and solidly put together and also offers a crucial bit more ground clearance than the Hyundai i20. It's also got the smoother gearbox. However, for someone buying a car primarily for driving feel with the majority of use on the highway, the i20 N line gets our vote. Performance is good but it's the tweaked suspension and steering that really uplift the N Line to make it feel properly involving to drive in corners. This Hyundai car also looks sportier thanks to the visual upgrades outside and inside, while the slightly enhanced soundtrack from the exhaust is a happy reminder that you are driving something special.
Hi, I am confused between the new Hyundai Venue HX5 AT and the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ AT. I am purchasing this car for my father, so the running will be low and mostly in the city. However, I will occasionally take it on highways and hills. Comfort and future maintenance are my main priorities. Which of these according to you is the best in the segment? Please provide a brief comparison of both models.
Between the two, we would suggest you going for the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ AT, particularly if you enjoy driving and will occasionally take the car on highways and hills. Its six speed torque converter automatic is smoother and more predictable in stop start traffic than the Venue's seven speed DCT. The Kylaq's chassis and suspension also make it more engaging to drive, with good composure on winding roads. The one consideration is after sales and maintenance. Hyundai has the advantage of a wider service network, while Skoda ownership costs can be higher. Since this car will primarily be used by your father, take him along for a test drive of both and pay particular attention to ease of ingress and egress, ride comfort and gearbox smoothness.
Hi Autocar India Team, I’m planning to buy the Skoda Kylaq Prestige+ AT as my first car. Thank you for your advice on my previous question and for helping me with my purchase decision. I recently watched your AC torture test video from June 2026, in which you mentioned that an upgraded compressor, expected later this year, should improve the Kylaq’s cooling performance. I wanted to check whether this upgraded AC compressor has now been introduced in the Skoda Kylaq. Your clarification would greatly help me make an informed purchase decision. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for writing in and glad we could help. As for the Skoda Kylaq AC upgrade the current car has not yet received the new compressor that is in use in the Kushaq and the Slavia. It should happen at some point next year but for now there's not a definite timeframe that is known.
