The Skoda Kylaq is confirmed to get a ‘Sportline’ treatment in September 2026. When asked about a sportier Kylaq, Skoda India brand director Ashish Gupta said, “Skoda is doing something with styling elements to give the Kylaq a sporty touch, which will be with the Sportline version coming in September.” On the possibility of a full-blown RS version, Gupta said, “The sub-4m segment is defined by engine and vehicle sizes, and within that, getting a pure-performance vehicle is difficult.” However, he added that “customers would like to have a 1.5L TSI for the Kylaq, so it's under consideration, but whether it's possible or not and whether the investment is justified remains to be seen.”

Skoda Kylaq Sportline: What to expect?

It could have blacked-out exterior elements and an all-black cabin

Gupta said that the decision to introduce the Sportline variant is based on customer demands. The Kylaq is currently offered in six trims: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Prestige and Prestige+. As the upcoming Sportline trim could be positioned below the Prestige trim, similar to the Slavia and Kushaq, the SUV’s price range is expected to remain unchanged at the current Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 12.99 lakh.

While details of the Skoda Kylaq’s Sportline trim are awaited, it is expected to have the same blacked-out exterior design treatment as the Slavia Sportline and Kushaq Sportline. Hence, along with black badges, the Kylaq Sportline could also feature a black finish for the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), roof, faux skid plates on the front and rear bumpers, and outside door handles. Inside, it could get an all-black theme and aluminium pedals.

The Skoda Kylaq Sportline will continue with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 115hp and 178Nm. The manual and automatic transmission options are also expected to be the same. Interestingly, the 1.0-litre TSI version of the Skoda Kushaq was updated with an 8-speed automatic transmission with the March 2026 facelift, but the Kylaq is yet to receive such an update.

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
Bad - it should have been priced even lower
Doesn’t matter - there aren’t enough E85-compatible vehicles yet
