MG Comet Range

As per ARAI, the MG Comet range is 230km on a full charge. In our real-world test, it returned 11.17km/kWh, the highest efficiency recorded by us for a mass-market EV. This translates to a range of 193km, close to the 192km reported by owners.

How far can the Comet go on a full charge?

• In the city: About 193km, as per our test done mostly in city traffic with Eco mode and the strongest regen setting.
• In Normal or Sport mode: Expect less, as these modes raise the top speed and sharpen performance.
• In peak summer: Our long-term Comet managed about 146km, with the AC working hard in 40-degree heat and varying loads.

Note: 

• The Comet has no DC fast charging. MG claims a full charge takes about 7 hours with the 3.3kW charger and 3.5 hours with the 7.4kW charger on the FC versions. 
• Running costs are low, too. As per our charging cost calculator, driving 60km a day at Rs 6 per unit costs around Rs 812 a month.
