Questions you may find useful
I am planning to buy an Exter H8. I am new to driving, and this would be my first car. Any reviews or suggestions?
The Hyundai Exter is a very sensible first car, especially for a new driver. This Hyundai car is compact and easy to manoeuvre, which makes city driving and parking far less intimidating. The H8 variant is well-equipped with essential features, so you are not missing out on anything important. Hyundai’s service network is extensive, and ownership costs are generally reasonable, which is reassuring for a first-time buyer. The Exter’s naturally aspirated petrol engine is smooth and predictable, making it easy to drive in traffic and forgiving for someone still building confidence behind the wheel. The ride quality is comfortable for a car of this size, and the cabin feels well put together. It also offers a decent amount of space for a small family, so it can comfortably serve as your primary car for several years.
I am a first time driver looking for an AMT car. I have shortlisted Hyundai Exter, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. I like Fronx the most but compared to Exter and Amaze, its basic features are missing. Further, I have found some visibility issue while driving in nearby area because bonet comes in my near vision. Exter is good but I have heard negative reviews about it. Amaze is good too for AMT but I am little confused whether I should go for sedan in today's market. I would be mostly driving on weekends so my driving will be mix of city and highway for trips. I stay in Mumbai and I personally don't like Punch and Brezza. While Punch is for space and Brezza is for features and build quality in comparison to other car. I am not particularly sure about Nexon AMT's performance. I need your guidance about a car that will be suitable for me in a budget of Rs. 9 to 10 lakh.
Go for the Honda Amaze, which is possibly the best automatic car in this price range for your needs. The biggest advantage is its smooth CVT gearbox, which is far superior to the more basic AMTs that are offered by the other cars in this price range. That gearbox is mated to a smooth, refined and fuel efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine that's proven and reliable. Its compact dimensions make it easy to drive, and Honda's famous attention to space management and ergonomics mean it feels like a big car on the inside and is easy to drive too. Moreover, for your occasional highway trips, the 89hp, four-cylinder engine has good power for cruising and overtaking. There's no harm in choosing a sedan at all, and you should buy the car that suits you and not the market. The Exter is a good alternative, with a higher seating that makes it easy to see out of, and you will get a higher variant in your budget, although compared to the Amaze, it feels like a smaller car from a lower segment. The engine isn't as punchy as the Honda's and the AMT gearbox is nowhere as smooth, and while it might be sufficient in the city, it doesn't inspire confidence on the highway. Overall, the Amaze is the best bet for your needs.
Spent almost 40 minutes waiting in my Exter outside a friend's place with the AC running just so I wouldn't have to go inside.
Which would offer better value for money between the Swift and Exter? I am considering the Swift HX4 and Exter VXi variants. Which one offers better driving dynamics and more space? The Swift is wider, while the Exter is taller. Which one is more spacious?
Go for the Hyundai Exter HX4. It is the better value-for-money package and the more practical car overall. This Hyundai car offers a higher seating position, better ground clearance and a more spacious cabin, especially in terms of headroom and rear seat comfort. It also feels more substantial on the road and is better suited to rough roads and speed breakers. The Swift VXi is the better driver's car with a lower seating position, a better engine and a more engaging driving experience, but it is not as practical as the Exter. Overall, the Exter is the better choice for most buyers looking for value, space and practicality.
I wish to buy a CNG car with a budget of Rs. 8-9 lakh. Please suggest the best option among the Baleno, Fronx, Grand i10 Nios, Exter, and Dzire.
Go for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG. It is the most well-rounded option in your budget, offering a spacious cabin, a large boot and a proven, reliable CNG powertrain. The Dzire is also one of the most comfortable and most efficient cars in this price range, with a compliant ride and a well-sorted suspension setup that makes it easy to live with on a daily basis. Maruti's service network and low maintenance costs further strengthen its case as a long-term ownership proposition. The Hyundai Exter CNG is a good value alternative, but it does not offer the same level of space or comfort as the Dzire. On the positive side, due to its twin-cylinder setup, you still get a reasonable boot with the Exter.Overall, the Dzire CNG strikes the best balance between price, space, comfort, efficiency and long-term ownership peace of mind.
