I own a Grand i10 (2019) model and my annual running is 1,42,000 km. My daily running is 88 km. Should I install Lovato CNG kit or replace it with Exter CNG or Swift CNG. The car is in good condition.

With a daily running of 88 km, CNG absolutely makes sense from a running cost perspective. Since your Grand i10 is a 2019 model and in good condition, it might be worth spending and getting a CNG kit installed from a reputed installer. Do keep in mind that you will have to sacrifice boot space completely.

However, if you're open to contributing more towards a new car, consider selling the Grand i10 if you're getting a decent price for it, and get the Hyundai Exter CNG. With the Exter CNG, you get the same smooth, efficient powertrain as the Nios, a factory-fitted CNG tank backed by the company warranty, and an added advantage is that its twin-tanks are placed beneath the boot floor, so you won't have to sacrifice luggage space either.

I am currently driving Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire VDi (2013) diesel manual. I want to decide between Tata Harrier Adventure X Plus DK and Tata Sierra accomplished (both diesel). On Harrier, I am getting discount of approximately 1.6 lakh and on Sierra, I am getting approximately 70,000 discount. Which one should I prefer? In this tight city, with bulky SUVs everywhere and the E20 era, I’m considering the Punch AMT and Altroz DCA petrol for a beginner with a 70:30 city-highway usage split. The Altroz has the advantage of a better automatic transmission and great looks, but I’m not sure how beginner-friendly it would be in city traffic. The Punch offers better visibility and ground clearance, but I’m concerned about the AMT being jerky, as many reviews mention. I’m also unsure about the real-world fuel efficiency of both.

Go for the Tata Altroz DCA petrol. The DCA is a proper dual-clutch automatic and is far smoother and more responsive than the Punch’s AMT, which feels jerky at low speeds. The Altroz is also a more refined car overall, with a better driving experience on highways and a more premium feel inside.What's more, the Altroz' cabin is more spacious, and even though you're seated lower than in the Punch, visibility is good, and it is still very user-friendly. In real-world conditions, both cars will return similar fuel efficiency figures, with the Altroz having a slight edge on the highway thanks to its more efficient gearbox.

Help me choose the right car for my usage. Please be practical and challenge my assumptions. My situation: I am 31 and work as a software developer. It is also backed by Maruti's widespread support network, and the ownership experience is likely to be fuss-free. It is one of the most spacious cars in the segment, with a genuinely usable third row and a comfortable ride that makes it an excellent family car. The petrol engine is smooth, refined and well suited to your running of under 1,000 km a month, where the hybrid premium is harder to justify.The Mahindra XUV 7XO is a strong alternative with a more powerful engine and a more feature-rich cabin, but the HyCross has the edge on space, comfort and long-term ownership experience.The Hyundai Alcazar and Kia Seltos are good cars, but they do not offer the same level of space or comfort, and the Renault Duster is more of a driver's car than a family car. The Toyota car mentioned above is the car you will be happiest with after five years of ownership.
