FAQs
Trending Questions on MG Cars - Answered by Autocar Experts
I am planning to buy an EV car, but my running is not that much. Monthly 500 kms. I should go with an EV car or a petrol car.
I have been using automatic cars, a Celerio and a Grand i10, for the past 8 years. Both are good, and the i10 is smoother. I now want to replace the Celerio and buy a new automatic petrol car or an EV within a 20 lakh budget. My monthly usage is around 1,000 km, mostly in the city with rare highway trips. Which is better: an automatic SUV priced around 16 to 20 lakh, or an EV like the Windsor or Nexon within an 18 lakh budget? I also have a home charging facility. My wife will use the car sometimes. Are there any other EV or automatic options available in this range?
I am a first-time driver planning to buy an MG Comet for city use. Are there any other small automatic/electric vehicles that would be better than the Comet?
The MG Comet is a good option for a first-time driver. It is easy to drive, has a spacious cabin, despite being a two-door, and the electric powertrain is smooth and silent enough.
However, the 2-doors mean the Comet is not the most practical option in its segment, the boot is small, and the small tyres mean the ride can get choppy. If this is important to you, you could consider the Tata Tiago EV. Otherwise the Comet will do just fine.
I want to buy a new car for around ā¹20 lakh. My daily running will be about 80-90 km. Iām confused whether to buy a hybrid or an electric vehicle right now, as EVs sometimes face reliability issues. Please advise.
Considering your high daily running, an EV would be the better choice.
For roughly 90km every day, you need good comfort, features and a hassle-free experience with long range. The MG Windsor Essence Pro would be a good option to consider, as it has a large 52.9kWh battery pack with a range of over 400km on one charge.
What's also impressive, is the spacious cabin, comfy ride and the host of features. The only downside is that all the tech is buried in the touchscreen, and it takes some time to get familiar with the setup. You can also consider MG's Battery As A Service scheme that allows you to personalise your ownership and resale, and pay only for how much you drive it.
MG's EV tech is one of the best in the business and has a positive reputation when it comes to reliability.
I am planning to buy a new car and will also be shifting to a new place that is about 12 to 15 km from my workplace. I will need to travel to and from work almost two or three times a day. I am confused about whether I should choose an ICE vehicle or an EV. Please help me decide, along with the reasons. Thank you. I love your content!
I am planning to buy the MG Hector Plus 7-seater. Is it advisable to buy one?
Hello. I currently drive a 13-year-old Honda Brio and am planning to buy a new mini-SUV or SUV with a ā¹20 lakh on-road budget. My monthly running will be about 1,000-1,500 km. Which fuel type is better for long-term ownership - petrol, hybrid, or electric - and which models should I consider?
Opting for an electric SUV could be save you from a lot of uncertainties in the future around fuel mix, registration validity, etc., which might concern ICE vehicle owners.
With a budget of Rs 20 lakh, the most sensible and trouble-free EV option is an entry-level Hyundai Creta Electric. If you want space, features and a fully-loaded car, the MG Windsor EV is also a good option to consider.
The entry-level Mahindra BE 6 is a stand-out EV that also falls within your Rs 20 lakh budget.
I have gone through your review of the MG M9. Is there a petrol or hybrid option available in that price range for a seven-seater?
I currently own a Creta SX(O) IVT petrol, which guzzles a lot of petrol, especially after E20. I am getting single-digit mileage and spending around Rs 4,500 per week on petrol. I want to switch to a Tiago EV. My budget is Rs 15 to 18 lakh, and I need a boot space of around 450 litres.
I currently drive a Tata Nexon and am planning to upgrade to a seven-seater. I have shortlisted the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline and Jeep Meridian Trail AT, but am confused about which one to finalise. I need expert advice on this. You may suggest any other seven-seater as well, except the Innova HyCross.
But if your objective is to travel with six or seven adults often, consider the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner, which are more spacious than the Skoda and Jeep. The Gloster has an edge over the Fortuner in terms of a more upmarket interior and better refinement.
