The spy shots show that the Harrier facelift will get a refreshed interior, with a touch-based panel for HVAC control and new central AC vents. Also visible is a rotary selector for drive modes and a new gear lever, like the same one shown in the Curvv concept.

As mentioned, the Harrier is expected to get Tata Motors’ new two-spoke steering wheel that will have a digital display, an illuminated logo and possibly paddleshifters. These changes will also make it to the Safari facelift

The latest test mule is under heavy camouflage, but the fascia seems largely similar to the outgoing Harrier. It will most likely carry a split headlamp design but seems to be slightly different than the one seen on the Safari facelift test mules. However, as we earlier reported, it will get a reworked headlight design and tail-lamps that are connected by an LED bar, much like the ones seen on the Safari.

The Harrier facelift can also be seen with the same alloy wheel design as the current model, sporting 17-inch alloys. It can be seen with rear disc brakes, but it remains to be seen if Tata Motors will make it standard equipment across the range.

Under the hood, the Harrier facelift is expected to continue with the 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to the existing 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The facelift is also expected to get the 170hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine at a later stage as it is currently under development.

Tata Harrier facelift rivals, launch timeline

When launched, the Harrier facelift will rival the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Jeep Compass. Production of the Harrier facelift is expected to begin by September, with its launch likely to happen in October. Prices for the Harrier currently range between Rs 15 lakh-24.07 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the facelift is likely to carry a slight premium.
