Tata Nexon Spy shots, Paddle shifter

Tata Motors has been rigorously testing the Nexon facelift ahead of its launch this year. New spy shots of the upcoming Nexon’s interior show several interesting elements, especially the paddle shifters.

  1. Nexon facelift to get new 10.25-inch touchscreen
  2. Likely to get a dual-clutch automatic gearbox
  3. Will get a major exterior update as well

Tata Nexon facelift gets major interior upgrade

As mentioned above, the Nexon facelift could also get paddle shifters, something that no production Tata car or SUV has been equipped with so far. However, we'll have to wait to see if these are paddles or just controls to adjust the regen settings in the Nexon EV.

The instrument cluster too has been revamped to feature a much better digital dial, and the steering wheel – with the illuminated logo – resembles the Tata Curvv concept. The spy shots also reveal that the refreshed Nexon's flat-bottom steering gets haptic touch controls – usually seen in premium brands like Mercedes-Benz.

Tata currently offers the Nexon with a 6-speed AMT gearbox, but the images show that the Nexon's gear lever also has a Park mode (P), something that's not available on the former. This could indicate that the DCT automatic, which is currently available only on the Altroz DCA, could be offered on the Nexon facelift.

The next interesting detail is touch-operable climate control that's a step up from the current Nexon's physical HVAC controls. Another feature, which is now becoming commonplace in modern cars and SUVs, is a wireless charging pad that was introduced with the Nexon EV Max. But, perhaps the most awaited upgrade would be Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen that was showcased at Auto Expo, and has since made its way to the Tata Nexon EV Max, and the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions. This new infotainment unit is more fluid and responsive, and you can read more about it here.

Tata Nexon facelift price and launch

The Tata Nexon facelift is expected to be launched around August 2023, and since the model receives extensive updates, we could expect the pricing to increase as well. The Tata Nexon line-up currently starts at Rs 7.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Nexon could be pricier by Rs 50,000.
