Tata Motors recently opened bookings for the Altroz CNG for the token amount of Rs 21,000. The Altroz CNG was first displayed at Auto Expo 2023 in January, and while the pricing is yet to be announced, here are some features that we can expect from the premium hatchback.

    1. Tata Altroz CNG to get 6 variants
    2. To rival the CNG variants of Baleno and Glanza
    3. Deliveries to begin in May

    Tata Altroz CNG expected features

Tata Motors currently has 15 variants of the Altroz on sale. As per a dealer source, six variants could be equipped with CNG and three of them – the XM+ (S), XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S) – could get a sunroof.

Other features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, digital driver's display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch alloy wheels, an engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, leatherette seats, rear AC vents and a front centre armrest.

The Altroz gets six airbags, ABS with EBD and stability control. The Altroz can also be started solely in CNG mode – like the CNG variants of the Tiago and Tigor can – something that rival CNG cars like the Baleno and Glanza cannot.

    Tata Altroz CNG boot space

Tata Motors has smartly freed up more boot space in the Altroz CNG by splitting the single CNG tank into two smaller tanks and placing them below the floor. This has allowed the boot to retain good usability of space, something that the rivals do not offer. However, due to this tank positioning, there is no spare tyre offered, but instead, there's a puncture repair kit along with an air pump.

Tata Altroz CNG engine, performance and mileage

The Altroz gets Tata Motors' 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, there is no automatic gearbox available yet. When running on petrol, this engine produces 86hp and 113Nm of torque, and in CNG mode, it puts out 77hp and 97Nm of torque. The Tiago and Tigor offer a claimed fuel economy of 26.49km/kg and we can expect the Altroz to have similar figures as well.

Tata Altroz CNG price and delivery

Last month, Tata Motors opened bookings for Altroz CNG for a token amount of Rs 21,000 and has said that deliveries will begin in May 2023. We can expect it to be priced Rs 90,000 higher than its petrol-powered counterpart.
