Renault Kiger: engine and gearbox options

The Kiger comes with the same engines as the Magnite, meaning it gets a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine making 72hp and 96Nm of torque, along with a 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine making 100hp and 160Nm.

However, the Kiger differentiates itself from the Magnite, as the NA petrol engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and AMT automatic gearbox options (the latter is not available on the Magnite). The Kiger’s turbo-petrol engine can be had with either 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearboxes; the torque figure drops to 152Nm when paired to the CVT unit.

    Renault Kiger price and rivals

As the Renault Kiger is positioned in the compact SUV segment, it competes with the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Hyundai VenueKia SonetMahindra XUV300Tata NexonFord EcoSportMaruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Toyota Urban Cruiser.

Though due to its price, its closest competitor is the Nissan Magnite, as all the other models have a much higher price range. However, the top-spec variant of the Magnite undercut the range-topping Kiger variant. More details on that here.
