BMW will mark its presence at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025, scheduled to take place from January 17 to 22, with the launch of the all-new X3. Meanwhile, BMW-owned Mini will be showcasing the new Cooper S John Cooper Works Edition. BMW’s two-wheeler division, Motorrad, will also launch a range of new big bikes, which you can read about here.

New BMW X3

Revealed globally in June last year, the new fourth-gen BMW X3 gets an all-new design language, both inside and out. It is full of large, clean surfaces with minimal cuts and creases. Also new is the grille, which consists of both diagonal and horizontal slats, along with dagger-shaped headlights with double LED ‘ticks’. Inside, the X3 takes a leaf out of the iX electric SUV and gets a sloping dash, a wide curved display, and a very modern, minimalist look. The dashboard also comes finished in a new meshed fabric material that feels quite unique.

Under the hood, the new X3 will be available with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid technology. The petrol unit produces 208hp and 330Nm, while the diesel mill produces 197hp and 400Nm. The new X3 also gets a 2.0-litre petrol plug-in hybrid and a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine option in overseas markets, but these are unlikely to come here, at least for now.

Apart from the X3, BMW will also showcase its existing range of cars and SUVs, such as the X7, the 5 Series Long Wheelbase, the new M5, M4, and M2, on display at its pavilion at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works

The John Cooper Works version is essentially the most performance-oriented version of the hatchback. The new Cooper S JCW makes use of the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine as the standard Cooper but has been uprated to produce 231hp and 380Nm – 27hp and 80Nm higher than the standard hatch. The outputs remain the same as the outgoing JCW model, though. It retains the 7-speed DCT from its predecessor.

Visually, over the standard Cooper, the JCW version gets a blacked-out grille with the John Cooper Works logo and large air vents on the front bumper. At the rear, the John Cooper Works comes equipped with a new rear spoiler, a black rear diffuser, and a centrally positioned tailpipe. The JCW can be had with either 17-inch or optional 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, it gets a red and black theme with JCW sports seats upholstered with multi-coloured knitted fabric and red stitching, along with a new JCW sports steering wheel.
