MG Hector 7-seater India launch confirmed for early 2020

2019 MG Hector vs rivals: Specifications comparison

The MG Hector SUV has officially been revealed in India, with the carmaker showing off the model’s design and features. The Hector sports a modern design with a split-headlight layout and a chrome mesh grille with the 'MG' badge up front. It also features a set of diamond-cut alloy wheels, a split roof spoiler and a reflector that connects the tail-lamps.

Mechanically, the MG Hector is offered with a 143hp, 1.5-litre petrol and a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. A 48V mild-hybrid option is also available with the petrol engine that is said to be 12 percent more fuel efficient than the petrol-only variant. The mild-hybrid system will also provide up to 20Nm of additional torque at low speeds to help counter turbo lag and provide better acceleration in stop-start city traffic. While the petrol engine variants get a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the diesel engine variants only come with the former.
