A test mule of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Brezza was recently spied on Indian roads for the first time. Maruti Suzuki launched the current-gen Brezza back in June 2022, so the compact SUV is due for an update in the near future.

New alloy wheels; rear end may get an LED light bar
The spy shots on hand only show the rear three-quarter of the Brezza facelift, and the heavy camouflage makes it tough to spot cosmetic updates. However, new four-spoke blacked-out alloy wheels can be observed, and the slightly reprofiled LED tail-lamps could be connected by a light strip with segmented sections a la the Maruti Victoris. Expect mild styling updates for the Brezza facelift’s front end as well.
Could offer an underbody CNG tank
Though not visibly apparent in the images, the source behind them alleges that the Brezza facelift model pictured was CNG-powered and featured an underbody tank – yet another design cue adopted from the Victoris. Should this hold true, the Brezza facelift’s CNG variants would have equivalent boot space to the petrol models.

Mild changes to interior design
We don’t have spy shots of the Brezza facelift’s cabin yet, but expect little in the way of major design changes on this front. The Brezza facelift may offer a fresh colour scheme and updated trim pieces inside, with possibly the Victoris’ new steering wheel, too.
Feature list will most likely be bolstered
In terms of features, the Brezza facelift could improve upon the outgoing model with a larger infotainment touchscreen running updated firmware, a powered driver’s seat, a digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and more. The Victoris’ Level 2 ADAS might also make its way into the Brezza facelift for it to better compete against newer compact SUVs like the Kia Syros and new-gen Hyundai Venue.

Same 1.5-litre engine with petrol and CNG options
Under the hood, we don’t anticipate any notable revisions for the Brezza facelift. It will most likely continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 103hp and 137Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
CNG variants of the Brezza facelift are expected to be on offer, too, powered by the same 1.5-litre engine, but with a reduced output of 88hp and 121.5Nm (in CNG mode) and paired solely with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki also has the opportunity to use the Fronx’s 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol ‘BoosterJet’ engine in the Brezza facelift, which would place the compact SUV in the 18 percent GST bracket (sub-4-metre with petrol engine smaller than 1,200cc) – down from the current 40 percent – and thereby lower its pricing. However, it remains unclear whether Maruti will offer the BoosterJet engine in the Brezza facelift.

Potentially next year
At the moment, we don’t have a precise launch window for the Brezza facelift. However, given that the current model has been on sale for almost three and a half years, a 2026 launch – maybe around the festive season – is possible.
