Kia is gearing up to launch the Seltos SUV on August 22, 2019, at which time the Korean carmaker will also reveal the much anticipated model’s prices. Now, we have also received information about all the variants of the SUV and the features that each will come with.
Before we go further, a small recap on the Kia Seltos’ multiple engine options for our market: it will get a 1.5-litre petrol offered with a 6-speed manual or CVT; a 1.5-litre diesel mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter; and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with direct injection, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The new information states that the Seltos will be sold in multiple variants in GT line and Tech line styles, which are further differentiated on the basis of engine-gearbox combinations. The Seltos will sit right in the middle of the hotly contested midsize SUV market in India, which includes models like the Hyundai Creta, the Mahindra XUV500, the Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks and the aggressively priced MG Hector. Expect Kia to price the Seltos in the range of Rs 11-17 lakh (ex-showroom).
