We recently reported that Hyundai is working on a new special edition for the Creta and Alcazar SUVs. The South Korean manufacturer has now teased the upcoming Adventure editions for both SUVs.

    1. Creta, Alcazar Adventure editions expected to launch by September
    2. It will get blacked-out roof, grille and wheels
    3. This will be the first special edition of the Alcazar

As per our sources, the Creta and Alcazar Adventure editions are expected to launch by September. While Creta has had a limited edition earlier – the Knight edition – this will be the first special edition for the Alcazar.

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure editions: what do the teasers show?

The teasers shared by Hyundai show that the Adventure edition for Creta and Alcazar will get the new Ranger Khaki colour option, which debuted on the new Exter. The special edition will also get blacked-out wheels with red brake calipers. The blacked-out treatment extends to the roof and the grille of the two SUVs.

Sources tell us that the upcoming Adventure edition will be a replacement for Creta’s Knight edition. Like how the latter got a 'Knight' badge on the tailgate, the Adventure edition will also get an ‘Adventure’ badge, albeit it is placed on the front fenders, with a part of it on the front door. At the moment, there is no information if the two SUVs will get an Adventure badge on the tailgate too.

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure editions: interiors

The Adventure edition will have an all-black interior that will likely be accompanied by contrast stitching for the upholstery. It will also likely get ‘Adventure Edition’ badges on the head restraints and door sills. Like the Knight edition, the Adventure edition is also expected to be offered on multiple trims, and the features list will be equivalent to the trim it's based on.

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure editions: powertrains

Under the hood, the Adventure Editions will have no change in powertrains. For the diesel powertrain, the Creta and Alcazar continue with the 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Coming to petrol powertrains, the Creta will continue with a 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, while the Alcazar gets a 160hp, 253Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure editions: prices

The Creta is priced between Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 19.20 lakh, while the Alcazar is priced between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.12 lakh (both ex-showroom, Mumbai). Expect the Adventure edition on both SUVs to come with a slight premium.

As for the competition, the Creta Adventure edition will go up against the Lava Blue Edition and Matte Edition of the Skoda Kushaq, as well as the GT Edge Limited Edition of the Volkswagen Taigun
