What you felt in the Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Three is a fair observation. The XEV 9e does have a softer suspension tune, and for some rear seat passengers, that can translate into a floaty, slightly boat-like vertical movement over undulations, which can feel uncomfortable or even nauseating if you are sensitive to that kind of motion. As far as we know, there is no major suspension hardware difference between Pack One, Two and Three that fundamentally changes this character, so we would not expect the lower variants to feel significantly different in this regard.If rear seat ride quality and body control are a major priority, the Tata Harrier EV is the better option right now. It feels more tied down, composed and generally better controlled from the rear, without that excessive floatiness. If you still want to stay with Mahindra, the XEV 9e actually feels more balanced in this respect and does not have the same exaggerated bouncy character as the XEV 9S.That said, since you are clearly particular about ride quality and already like how Tata’s EVs are tuned, we would absolutely suggest waiting for the Tata Sierra EV as well, especially since its launch is right around the corner. It should sit in that sweet spot above the Nexon EV in size while potentially offering the kind of more settled suspension setup you seem to prefer.

The Tata Sierra Pure 63 would be the best choice for your budget. While it may not be as feature-rich as the MG Windsor Essence Pro, it is the better all-round EV with a more modern platform, better ride and handling, a spacious cabin and strong real-world range. The Pure variant is also well equipped with the essentials, and features can always be added later, but the fundamentals of the car cannot.The MG Windsor Essence Pro remains excellent value for money and offers the most comprehensive feature list. However, your concerns about the laggy infotainment system and the softer suspension are valid, and if these are likely to bother you every day, they shouldn't be ignored.The Hyundai Creta Electric Executive Tech is another strong contender. It offers a refined driving experience and Hyundai's proven ownership experience, but at this price point, the lower variant feels a little too basic compared to the Sierra and Windsor.

With your usage of just 20-30 km a month plus a few long trips a year, an EV is actually a very sensible choice. You have home charging, which is the biggest hurdle for most buyers, and your low monthly running means you will not be burning fuel idling in the garage. The occasional long trips are manageable with planning, and modern EVs like the Sierra EV or XEV 9s offer enough range for most intercity runs with a single charging stop. The key advantage here is that you avoid the E20 question altogether. Modern petrol engines are E20 compliant, but higher ethanol blends do reduce fuel efficiency slightly, and with your low usage, the fuel savings of a petrol car are negligible anyway.If you are set on a D-segment SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9s is the most practical choice. It offers a spacious cabin, good performance and despite its size is easy to drive in the city as well.

Go for the Tata Sierra EV 75kWh. It's the superior EV in almost every way. It's got a significantly larger battery, so even if it isn't quite as efficient as the MG Windsor Essence Pro, the overall real-world range will be better. Though the Windsor is spacious, the Sierra is even more so, with a much larger boot. It's more powerful with a rear-wheel-drive layout and more fun to drive as well. Tata's service network is also wider than MG's, so you are more likely to find something closer to you.The only things that could swing it in favour of the MG car are the fact that it is slightly smaller and thus easier to manoeuvre around town, and the Rs 3 lakh price difference. However, we feel in this case the Sierra EV 75kWh is worth the stretch, and that you should go for it

Go for the Mahindra XEV 9e 59 kWh. It is the most complete electric car from the ones you're considering and will genuinely feel like an upgrade over your Creta. The Sierra and Harrier EV are good cars, but the XEV 9e feels more premium, more modern and more sorted as an overall package. Going for the smaller 59 kWh battery should not be a concern since it is still a large pack, and Mahindra’s battery management system is well engineered. The car is also more efficient than the Tata EVs, so real-world range is not as far behind as the numbers would suggest. The only reason to stretch to the larger battery is if you regularly do very long highway runs. For your 70% city usage, the 59 kWh pack is more than sufficient. The Sierra EV is the better Tata EV, but the XEV 9e is the better car overall.
