Hello sir, I want to buy the Tata Punch facelift turbo 1.2-litre car for pure city driving in Pune. My monthly running is 500km. There may be occasional highway drives. Please suggest whether it is the right choice or if I should go with the NA engine or some other car in the Rs 10 lakh budget. Thank you.
Yes, the Tata Punch turbo is a good choice for you, given the nature of your usage. The advantage is that it can still be easy, and even quite fuel efficient if driven carefully, when driving around town, while also being strong enough for your occasional highway drives or hilly regions. This can not be said of the naturally aspirated engine.
Perhaps the only downsides are that the 6-speed manual gearbox can feel notchy, clutch modulation is not easy to do smoothly, and it is not very refined. Also, you will not get the top-spec variant within your Rs 10 lakh budget.
Keeping that in mind, you should also consider the Citroen C3 1.2 Turbo. It has a much smoother and punchier engine, and the gearbox is slicker too. It may miss out on some features that the Punch gets, but it is also more affordable overall. Its biggest advantage is that, if you are willing to spend a little more, you can get this engine with a smooth 6-speed automatic gearbox, which will be a huge boon around town.

I own two cars: a Brezza petrol TC and a Baleno Zeta CNG. My daily run is 60-70 km in the city, mostly on good roads. I am thinking of replacing the Baleno with another CNG car that has a better driving stance and higher ground clearance, as I sometimes get tired driving the Baleno for long hours. The Brezza is mostly used for outstation family vacations. Please recommend a good CNG car under ₹13 lakhs that is feature-rich and reliable. Some must-have features for me are white LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels, and a good stock speaker system.

I am going to buy my first car. My usage will be around 50-80 km during peak summers and peak winters, mostly for about 8 months. For the rest of the year, the car will almost remain parked at home. The only car that comes to mind is the Tata Punch because of family safety. However, I feel I might be ignoring other factors like mileage and after-sales service costs. Please guide me on various options, keeping safety and a budget of not more than ₹9 lakh in mind. I would prefer a four-cylinder engine if possible, although the Punch has a three-cylinder engine. Can the Altroz diesel be a good alternative? My preference is a manual transmission.
The Tata Punch is a good, practical car that's proven its mettle for its safety. As you've mentioned, its three-cylinder petrol engine feels inadequate, and Tata doesn't have a solid reputation for after-sales support either.
Since you're looking for a four-cylinder option with mileage, service costs, as well as safety, we'd recommend you consider the Hyundai Venue, the 1.2 Petrol MT HX2 variant, which is the entry-level variant. As far as smoothness, refinement, space, and an upmarket interior feel go, the Venue is easily the better car.

I am going to retire shortly. I want a car with a good suspension system that is comfortable for elderly passengers, suitable for a maximum of four passengers, within a budget of Rs 6 lakh, and primarily for driving once a week.
For a budget of Rs 6 lakh and since you are particular about a good suspension system, you should consider the Tata Punch. The suspension is tough and can withstand a beating, but it provides a nice and comfortable ride. For 4 passengers, the car would be sufficiently comfortable, and the high seating and wide-opening door (open to almost 90 degrees) make entry and exit into the car very easy. The high seating point also gives you a good view outside and makes it quite easy to drive.
