Please help me decide between the Kia Seltos DCT petrol and the 2026 Skoda Kushaq. Which one is good to drive and easy to own/maintain? I will be using it for around 1000 km per month, with 70% of my commute in the city.
Since you will be driving mostly in the city, the smaller footprint of the Skoda Kushaq would be a bit better in terms of maneuverability. The Kushaq is both shorter and narrower than the Kia Seltos. This does mean that rear space is lower; however, if this is not critical for you, then you can happily consider the Kushaq.
Skoda also offers the Kushaq with the option of a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which has more than enough performance for regular driving and comes with a torque convertor gearbox, which is smoother than a DCT, especially in start-stop traffic and could potentially be more reliable too.

What features will be upgraded in the Volkswagen Taigun? Will it have a 360-degree camera?
A 360-degree camera on the facelifted Volkswagen Taigun is highly unlikely. The recently revealed facelift of its sister model, the Skoda Kushaq, does not get a 360-degree camera either. Since both cars share the same platform and usually have almost identical feature sets, it is unlikely that Volkswagen will introduce that feature only on the Taigun.
What the Taigun facelift is more likely to get are the same updates seen on the Kushaq. These could include features such as rear seat massage, a panoramic sunroof, Google Gemini integration in the infotainment system and a larger 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster.
Apart from these feature additions, the core mechanical package with the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines is expected to remain unchanged.

I'm stuck between the Skoda Kushaq and the Tata Harrier diesel. I drive daily 75km, with nearly 20km in the city and the remaining on the highway. Family size of 4 or occasionally 5. And I love exploring and travelling to forests and mountains by car. Previously used Ford Ecosport and was very happy with it. Now, suggest to me a good car among these two.
While the Skoda Kushaq is a fun-to-drive SUV that would make a suitable successor to your Ford Ecosport, given your requirements and usage, it's not the right choice for you. The cabin is a tight squeeze for five passengers, and considering you drive as much as 75km per day, its petrol engine's fuel costs might add up over time.
The Tata Harrier diesel is a larger SUV with a bigger boot that should be well-suited to your exploratory drives out of the city with your family. Its strong diesel engine will handle these trips well and return reasonable fuel economy. It is also quite fun to drive and has very comfortable suspension. Do note, however, that it is a segment above the Kushaq, and the diesel version especially will be considerably more expensive.

I want to decide on an SUV purchase between the Honda Elevate, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Grand Vitara. I value good features but no ADAS. Lower maintenance is also important. Please suggest in order of merit.
In terms of lowest maintenance, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will top the list. It doesn’t come with ADAS at all, so you can opt for the top Alpha+ variant with all the bells and whistles and still skip ADAS. If you choose the strong hybrid version, it delivers superb fuel efficiency in the city, while all versions have a comfortable ride and spacious cabin.
Among your other picks, the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq also don’t get ADAS and are otherwise well-equipped, particularly the newly facelifted Kushaq, though maintenance may be a bit more expensive.
The Honda Elevate gets ADAS on the top ZX variant, which means you will have to opt for the VX and miss out on some other features. For your needs, the Grand Vitara is the best fit, but do test drive all these cars before making a decision.

Hi, I have a VW Virtus bought in early 2023, and now I am looking for a replacement. My preference is for an SUV. I'll primarily use it for city driving, and my monthly usage would be around 200 km. The car must have a good safety rating, comfort and mileage.
Since you are coming from a Volkswagen Virtus, you will naturally appreciate the Volkswagen Taigun or Skoda Kushaq, as both SUVs carry the same DNA of solid build quality and excellent driving dynamics. Between the two, the Kushaq, which has just been updated with fresher looks, more features and a stronger aircon, would be the better option.
You can opt for the 1.0 TSI variant with a six-speed automatic transmission, which is well-suited for city driving. It’s not the most fuel-efficient SUV in the segment, but considering your monthly running of around 200km, that shouldn’t matter too much.
However, do note that the back seat of the Kushaq (and Taigun) isn’t the most spacious. If you are looking for better rear seat comfort and slightly better efficiency, the Kia Seltos 1.5 petrol with the CVT automatic is another good option to consider.

The Skoda Kushaq and Kia Seltos are mid-sized SUVs, but take very different approaches.
The Skoda Kushaq is more driver-oriented. It's got punchy turbo-petrol engines, and the performance is backed by fun handling. On the flipside, the Kushaq isn't as roomy as some rivals and misses some equipment too.
The Kia Seltos scores for space, comfort and wow features. It's got pleasant engines, but the driving experience isn't as engaging.
In essence, the Kushaq is the more entertaining package for keen drivers, while the Kia Seltos is the better-rounded product that will appeal to the entire family.

I want to buy a car with a budget of ₹16-18 lakh ex-showroom under my employer’s car lease policy. My usage is very light, around 1000 km per month. I currently have a Swift VXi on which I’ve done 30,000 km in 4 years. The car is used mostly in the city with occasional highway trips. I want a petrol manual with a good driving experience like my Swift. I am confused between Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate. Should I consider extending my budget for an XUV 7XO AX7 or should I wait for the Hyundai Creta update (I like the Dark Edition)? Please suggest the most valuable car in this budget with its recommended variant.
If the driving experience is the top priority, the Skoda Kushaq will be the right pick for you. It's got punchy turbo-petrol engines, and handling is very enjoyable. The updated Kushaq launches next month and packs in a few more features, and also stronger air conditioning. While Skoda has not announced prices as yet, you should get a fully-loaded 1.0 TSI with a manual gearbox within your budget.
Of the other options, the Honda Elevate is also worth considering. Engine performance and handling are good, but refinement isn't great for this segment.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO AX7 is great, but it might be too large for your requirements. Also, fuel economy is lower than the alternatives on your list. The Hyundai Creta is a practical pick, and the 1.5 petrol engine and manual gearbox are easygoing, but unexciting.

I want to exchange my Honda Elevate for a Skoda Kushaq. Is it a good choice, or should I consider another vehicle like the Creta or Innova Crysta? I want only a manual petrol vehicle. Please suggest the best option.
The Toyota Innova Crysta only comes with a diesel engine, so that rules it out straightaway since you want a petrol manual.
The Hyundai Creta is available with a petrol-manual combination, but that’s the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. While it’s smooth and refined, it won’t feel like a meaningful upgrade in performance over your Honda Elevate. It’s more of a lateral move than a step up.
The Skoda Kushaq, on the other hand, especially with the 1.0 TSI turbo-petrol and 6-speed manual, will feel noticeably stronger and more engaging to drive. The turbo motor delivers a nice punch in the mid-range, and the manual gearbox is slick, making it a more rewarding driver’s car compared to the Elevate.
However, if you’re not in a hurry, it may be worth waiting for the upcoming Renault Duster. It is expected to come with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 6-speed manual, and that could well be the most powerful manual petrol SUV in this segment. If performance is a priority, that’s one to keep an eye on.

Hi, I live in a rural area of Telangana where I drive mostly on highways and expressways. I currently own a Honda Amaze diesel and want to upgrade. I am confused between the Skoda Kushaq and the Honda Elevate. Which one should I go for?
The Honda Elevate and Skoda Kushaq are good options for your usage. Given that you use a Honda Amaze, there will be a comfort factor in sticking to the Honda brand with the Elevate.
The Elevate is a well-engineered product with a robust suspension being one of the highlights. Top versions also get camera-based ADAS, which provides an additional layer of safety, especially on highway drives. Where the Elevate will leave you a bit wanting is in the powertrain. The engine is strong and likes to rev, but doesn't have the mid-range punch of a turbo-petrol. Further, the Elevate's CVT feels basic for this class of SUV.
The Skoda Kushaq doesn't have the same sense of space as the Elevate. However, the Kushaq has stronger turbo-petrol engines and better gearboxes. The 1-litre turbo feels punchy enough while the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo delivers exciting performance. If you enjoy driving, you'll also love the Kushaq's keen handling. The updated Kushaq that launches soon also promises enhanced AC cooling, which was an issue on the original model.
In essence, the Elevate is a safer, more familiar choice, while the Kushaq will be a more exciting choice for you.

Since you are looking for reliability and a trouble-free ownership, we would recommend the Skoda Kushaq over the Tata Sierra. The Sierra is an all-new car; thus, its reliability remains to be seen, though indications are good.
The Kushaq is also a bit smaller than the Sierra, and this will help you in your city driving. For fewer highway rides, too, the Kushaq will offer up a good ride and handling balance and a secure feel on the highway.
