However, as you've pointed out, this Mercedes-Benz car is significantly more expensive than the well-priced Lexus. Similarly, the BMW 530Li LWB is priced higher and offers a more engaging driving experience, but that does not seem to be your primary requirement.If you are genuinely happy with the Lexus car, we would not let brand perception override that decision. Buy the Camry. It delivers the calm, premium sedan feel you want, and the hybrid really does lower city fuel costs. In traffic, it pulls away on battery, the engine joins smoothly, and you can see around 18-22 kpl in the city if you drive gently. The back seat is properly spacious and comfy, the ride is soft enough to take bad roads in stride, and the cabin stays quiet. On highways, it cruises easily and feels upmarket without shouting about it. The honest downside is price. You pay a fair bit more upfront than some roomy SUVsIf your running is mostly city and you like relaxed driving, go for the Camry with confidence.

Pick the Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel automatic. The steering still feels natural, the ride stays calm at speed, and the 2.2 diesel has effortless shove for quick highway passes while returning impressive mileage. Sure, being much larger in size, it might not feel as agile or as convenient to drive as your Figo, but that's something you will have to get used to.Alternatively, you could consider the Honda City hybrid too. It is a very efficient sedan car which recently got a mid-life makeover and some new features. Yes, the City is expensive, but it is the only hybrid sedan on this side of Rs 30 lakh.If you're not in a hurry to buy, the strong-hybrid versions of the Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton could be worth waiting for.

At the moment, the Honda City is the only mid-size sedan in the market with a hybrid powertrain; however, it should cost you close to Rs 25 lakh on-road.Since you're looking for a value-for-money offering within Rs 18 lakh, the Hyundai Verna HX6+ 1.5 Petrol CVT is the one to go for. The car is feature-rich, comfortable, and very smooth to drive.

For the moment, there's no hybrid sedan that fits your requirements. The Lexus ES 350h hybrid is due for launch, though.The Lexus ES is already on sale in a full electric Lexus ES 500e avatar. It packs in crisp styling, a lot of features and the promise of a reasonable range. However, we have yet to drive one and cannot comment on ground clearance at this time.Since you are open to buying electric, an enticing option is in the works. BMW is readying a long wheelbase version of the all-electric i5, and a key engineering job on the project is to ensure ample ground clearance for Indian conditions. The BMW i5 M60, sold in short wheelbase form, was notorious for scraping its belly on speedbreakers and bad roads, and the promise is that this won't be an issue on the i5 LWB. The model is expected to go on sale in the coming months and could be an exciting option to look for.
