MG Cyberster

The Cyberster is the fastest MG ever and is the first convertible EV on sale in India. It's also MG's flagship product, retailed exclusively through the brand's premium Select network, priced at Rs 82.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It has no direct rivals, though the petrol-powered BMW Z4 and Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet occupy the same convertible sports car space at considerably higher price points.

The MG Cyberster runs a dual-motor AWD setup as standard and draws energy from a 77kWh battery pack, with the claimed power output being 510hp and 725Nm. MG claims a 0-100kph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 200kph, along with an ARAI-certified range of 580km. At just 110mm thick, the Cyberster’s battery pack is among the slimmest in the industry and thus helps keep the car's centre of gravity low, according to the brand.

The Cyberster’s styling is quite eye-catching, leaning hard into drama. It features Lamborghini-style, electrically operated scissor doors, a long swooping bonnet, a classic roadster silhouette, arrow-shaped LED tail lamps and 20-inch alloy wheels. Its fabric soft-top roof opens and closes in 10 seconds at speeds of up to 50kph. Depending on the exterior colour chosen, the roof will either be black or red – there are five exterior paint options.

Expectedly, the cabin is snug and driver-focused. There’s a four-screen digital layout, including a 10.25-inch gauge cluster flanked by two 7-inch displays, plus a 7-inch touchscreen on the centre console. Being a strict two-seater, practicality isn’t this car’s strong suit – outright storage is limited to a glovebox, a small cubby under the armrest and space behind the seats. Even though the Cyberster uses an electric powertrain, there's no front trunk (frunk). The rear boot, however, is of a usable size for a convertible sports car.
