Hi everyone, I'm a 37-year-old male and am planning to immediately replace my Renault Triber Petrol Manual and would appreciate your suggestions. My budget is between Rs. 15 and 20 lakh (on-road) for tier-2 city with monthly running of around 500 km and annual running of around 8,000 km. I take long trips of 400 to 600 km once every 2 months. I am confused about diesel car due to my relatively low annual running (~8,000 km). Will DPF issues become a major concern and whether I should go for automatic or manual, considering my age and occasional knee discomfort due to which I am interested in an automatic car. Will choosing an automatic over a diesel manual worth my money? I have another confusion between Ertiga and Invicto in terms of better long-term choice for my usage. Another concern is regarding the safety of Ertiga. Has Maruti made any improvements to its body structure or safety over the years? Its 1-star Global NCAP rating is a concern. Also, what real-world Ertiga automatic mileage can I expect in city and highway driving? Many owners have mentioned that Carens petrol has poor mileage. Is it really that bad in real-world conditions? Also, should I be worried about E20/E30 fuel compatibility and long-term ownership? I am not interested in buying an EV at the moment.

These upgrades make the cabin feel noticeably more premium and improve everyday usability, especially on long family trips.The VXI(O) CNG covers the essentials and remains the value-for-money option. It gets the same spacious cabin, CNG powertrain and practicality that make the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga such a strong family car. However, it does feel more basic inside and misses some of the convenience features that buyers tend to appreciate over long-term ownership.As for alternatives, there are few cars that can match the Ertiga's overall package at this price. The Maruti XL6 is the more premium version of the Ertiga, but it will stretch your Rs 13 lakh budget.
Any suggestions for a 7-seater under Rs 10 lakh? It will be used only for outstation trips.

The packaging for a sub-4 metre vehicle is superb, with a second row that slides and a usable third row. When not in use, the third row can be removed for a generous 625-litre boot. It is easy to drive and fairly economical on fuel for long trips.A few catches: with all 7 seats up, the boot is tiny. If you are opting for the AMT, its shifts are slow and sometimes jerky. And while the engine is fine in the city, it will feel strained when pushing for an overtake with 7 people on board. If you are able to wait until the end of the year, Renault has announced that the Triber will get the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol from the Kiger with the optional CVT. This will largely address the last two catches.Alternatively, you could consider the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, but even the base LXi trim will likely cross your Rs 10 lakh budget on-road.

Being a rare sight on our roads and having proper SUV credentials, it delivers in terms of road presence. However, its third row is not as spacious as other seven-seaters listed, and you will have to stretch your budget by a few lakhs to get this, since the seven-seater is available with the more powerful turbo-petrol engine.Taking all things into consideration, we'd urge you to reconsider and opt for the 1.5 petrol Kia Carens or Maruti Ertiga if you want a comfortable seven-seater.
