Kia Syros FAQs

With a price range of Rs 8.42 lakh to Rs 15.82 lakh, in comparison to other compact SUVs in its class, the Syros is pricier, especially at the top-end.

For the space and features on offer, the Syros feels like a value-for-money proposition.

We are planning to buy either the Kia Syros or the Kia Sonet in diesel automatic form. We are confused about whether they have been discontinued or not, and which variant would be the best one.

Both the Kia Syros and Sonet diesel automatics are very much on sale, so there is no need to worry about discontinuation. The Syros is the newer product and sits above the Sonet in Kia’s line-up, offering a more premium cabin, more space and a more comfortable ride. Both cars use a 6-speed torque converter automatic, which is a smooth-shifting and reliable gearbox. The choice really comes down to your budget and priorities. If you are looking for a more premium and spacious car, the Syros is the better choice. If you are looking for a more affordable option, the Sonet offers the diesel auto combo on lower trims than the Syros does. In terms of variants, it is best to go for the mid-to-high variants that offer a good balance of features and value. Kia Sonet mileage ranges from 18.6kpl to 24.1kpl, depending on the engine and transmission combination.

Pros and cons of buying Kia syros ev htx er plus variant

I’m planning to buy an EV with a budget of Rs. 19 - 20 lakh. My heart says the Tata Sierra EV Pure 63, but my mind says the Kia Syros top variant because of features like ventilated seats. Kindly suggest which one would be the better choice.

The choice really comes down to your usage and what you value in the car. If you need more space for both passengers and luggage and have a few long drives that you would undertake, then opt for the Tata Sierra. This Tata car is much larger and has a very spacious interior. The ride quality is also very good over both bad city roads as well as high highway speeds. The Tata Sierra price is between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 21.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and you can choose from 24 different variants. If, however, your usage is mainly going to be within the city, then the Kia Syros is the better buy. Its compact footprint will be much easier to manage while driving congested streets, and finding parking would be easier. You would also enjoy the top variant of the Kia car and its features.

My daily office commute is 70 km in total, and I have a solar power system at home. I am planning to sell my existing 2022 Hyundai E10. Should I choose the Tata Punch EV 40 kWh top model or the Kia Syros 42 kWh base model? I prefer Kia for its reliability, as I have concerns about Tata's poor service. However, the Kia base model does not offer a rear-view camera or a 360-degree camera.

The Kia Syros EV 42kWh would be the better choice for your requirements. With a 70km daily commute and a solar system at home, an electric car makes perfect sense, and you'll recover the higher purchase price through lower running costs. Since you're already concerned about Tata's service experience, the Kia car is likely to give you greater peace of mind over the long term. Both the Kia and Tata come with comprehensive battery warranties, so battery life shouldn't be a deciding factor. The Syros also offers a more spacious cabin and should feel like a more grown up car to live with every day. The only drawback is that the base variant misses features like a rear parking camera, which is genuinely useful. If possible, consider stretching to the next variant that includes it. If not, check whether Kia offers an OEM-approved camera accessory or dealer fitment rather than opting for an aftermarket unit, as this is less likely to create warranty issues.

Hi Autocar, looking to replace our 2013 EcoSport Diesel with an EV for my elderly parents (budget: Rs 22L ex-showroom; running: 450km/week). > It will be mostly chauffeur-driven (ruling out the MG Windsor due to lack of physical controls). > They are also waiting for the Kia Syros EV, but I prefer the Kia Carens Clavis EV. Which is the better pick under 22L? Any other comfortable, high-range family EVs to consider?
