I am looking to buy a good EV and want something a segment above city cars. I had shortlisted the XEV 9e, but considering the โน2 lakh price difference compared to the 9s, I feel the XEV 9e may not sustain its current pricing and could see a price correction. The December offers are available, but they are not attractive enough for me to close the deal. Should I wait for another 2-3 months, or do you think the current offers are the best and I should go ahead with the purchase?
There is no confirmation of a possible price reduction for the Mahindra XEV 9e. In fact, carmakers usually use the new calendar year to bump up prices. If your heart is set on the Mahindra XEV 9e, we'd advise you to make the most of the year-end discounts.
Alternatively, you could consider the attractively priced Mahindra XEV 9S that is essentially a 9e in a conventional SUV body style. The two SUVs are one and the same under the skin, and it's only the different suspension tuning (the 9S is set up much softer) that is the point of difference that you'd feel on the move. The 9S also gives added flexibility with a third row of seats.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx petrol makes more sense given your limited running. The 2.0 litre turbo petrol is powerful, smooth and refined. While the diesel is more efficient, it is not as smooth, and you would need significantly higher running costs to recover its higher upfront cost.
Since you are not planning hardcore off-roading and your usage will mostly be daily commutes and highway driving, the fact that the petrol is only offered in 4X2 does not really matter.

Since mileage is important to you, we would suggest the Hyundai Venue. We have yet to put the new generation car through our standard fuel efficiency test cycle.
However, given that it carries over its powertrains, we expect it to perform better than the Mahindra XUV 3XO. The Mahindra car is tuned more for a peppy throttle response, and this drops its real-world fuel efficiency.

I am moving on from a manual Tata Nexon and have test-driven the Renault Kiger Turbo Emotion and the Kia Sonet HTK Plus iMT. You're right, the Renault Kiger is a modern car which is decently equipped, but its resale value isn't as strong as some other options in this segment. The Kia Sonet feels more polished overall, and it will get you more features too.

We are looking for an EV car in the budget of 25 lakh. We received great offers in December for the XEV 9E, but the XEV 9S has also been launched now. We booked a 79-kilowatt XEV 9E pack 2. But we are thinking of going for pack 2 XEV 9S around the same price. It is confusing to know which car is better. We donโt need a seven-seater, but we also donโt mind extra seats. We need a comfortable car out of the two. Also, I get car sickness often. The Scorpio N suspension is good, but body roll is there. So I decided 9e. Your suggestions, please.
