The upcoming Tata Tigor facelift’s exterior design has been revealed through patent images. These images show a Tiago-like exterior design, which was also the case with the pre-facelift models. Tata Motors announced in May 2025 that it will launch four facelifts in FY27 (until March 2026), two of which were the ICE and EV versions of the Tiago. The 2026 Tigor and Tigor EV will be the other two models to get a facelift this fiscal year.

  2. Interior is expected to borrow cues from the 2026 Tiago

2026 Tata Tigor design patent: What's revealed?

Patent reveals a Tiago-like design, albeit with some changes

The fascia looks sleeker with slimmer headlights and a connecting bar at the centre, which could have a gloss black finish like the one on the Tata Tiago. The bumper design appears cleaner, houses larger air vents, and features pixel-style LED fog lamp housings.

In profile, the alloy wheel design is also fresh, but the wheel sizes are expected to be the same 15 inches. Prominent protrusions over the wheel arches hint at black cladding. The design patent images also reveal a notchback-style tapering roofline.

At the rear, the tail-lights seem to be connected by a plastic trim. The rear bumper looks simpler with reflectors on both sides and a housing for the reversing lamp at the centre.

The Tigor EV is expected to have a similar design to the ICE version, albeit with some EV-specific changes, including a blanked-off grille, a different set of wheels and revised bumpers.

Could get an all-new dashboard with a couple of fresh amenities

While details of the facelifted Tigor’s interior are yet to be revealed, the design and features are expected to be borrowed from the Tiago. Hence, the compact sedan could get an all-new dashboard design, freestanding infotainment system and semi-digital driver’s display, a revised steering wheel and a new centre console.

Expected features include automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, powered ORVMs, 6 airbags as standard (4 more than before), new rear AC vents and fast-charging ports.

2026 Tata Tigor: Powertrain options

Expected to get the same powertrains as the hatchback version

As the Tata Tigor is built on the same platform as the Tiago, it is expected to continue with the same set of engine and gearbox options, including an 86hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 75.5hp CNG option, both of which are offered with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT option.

The 2026 Tigor EV is also expected to borrow the Tiago EV's battery and electric motors, including a 19.2kWh option paired with a 61hp motor, and a larger 24kWh battery with a 75hp motor. It could see improved charging times. The claimed range could differ from the Tiago EV’s 226km to 285km, owing to a different body style.

With the facelift, prices are expected to be slightly revised. Currently, the Tigor ICE is priced from Rs 5.55 lakh to Rs 8.84 lakh, while the Tigor EV is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh. Like the Punch EV and Tiago EV, Tata Motors could offer the Tigor EV with a battery-as-a-subscription (BaaS) scheme for a lower upfront price.

Prices are ex-showroom, India.

What do you think about E85 fuel’s Rs 82.12/litre price in India?

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
Bad - it should have been priced even lower
