Tata Tiago EV test drives to begin from late December

    Tata Motors will open the bookings for the recently launched Tiago EV from October 10 at noon for Rs 21,000 and deliveries will begin in January 2023. Test drives for the EV hatchback, priced from Rs 8.49 lakh and going up to Rs 11.79 lakh, will begin by December end.

    Tiago EV booking and delivery details 

    The deliveries of the EV hatchback are set to begin in January 2023 and Tata says that the production of the larger 24kWh battery has been prioritised. According to our dealer sources, the top-spec XZ+ Tech Lux is the most preferred variant, and Teal Blue and Pristine White are the preferred paint options. Sources also tell us that in Mumbai and surrounding areas, there have been more than 500 unofficial bookings for the Tiago EV. 

    The Tiago EV is currently the most affordable electric car in India. However, the prices are only introductory and applicable for the first 10,000 customers, of which 2,000 are reserved for existing Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV customers.

    Tiago EV battery, range and powertrain details

    The Tiago EV gets two battery packs – 19.2kWh and 24kWh – with 250km and 315km MIDC range, respectively, and it is powered by Tata's Ziptron high-voltage architecture. With the smaller battery pack, the electric motor in the Tiago EV produces 61hp and 110Nm, and with the larger pack, it makes 74hp and 114Nm.

    The Tiago EV is capable of fast charging, and both battery packs can be topped from 10 to 80 percent in 57 minutes using a 50kW fast charger.

    The higher trims of the Tiago EV get equipment like rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and leatherette upholstery.
