The 2024 update for the Tata Altroz has been spied emission testing, revealing new details about the upcoming hatchback. The Altroz in its current form is relatively long in the tooth, having launched way back in January 2020. Tata is now readying a facelift for its premium hatchback and it seems like the model should be ready to arrive in showrooms in the coming months.

    1. Altroz facelift to get larger infotainment screen, digital driver display
    2. Expected to get minimal changes to exterior and interior
    3. Likely to retain current 1.2 petrol, CNG and 1.2 turbo-petrol engine options

    2024 Tata Altroz: exterior

The Altroz that was spied wore heavy camouflage, but what little is visible shows it hasn’t changed all that much – even the alloy wheels seem to be the same 16-inch units seen on the range-topping versions of the hatch. We expect the refreshed Altroz to boast minimal changes, though some new elements from Tata’s newer crop of SUVs may be seen on the updated model.

    2024 Tata Altroz: interior

The 2024 Altroz’s interior is expected to see a greater share of changes, especially in terms of the features list. The spy shots show that a larger infotainment touchscreen is mounted centrally on the dashboard – likely to be the 10.25-inch unit seen on the new Nexon and Punch EV. In addition, features seen on the Altroz Racer concept such as a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, six airbags, wireless charging and an air purifier, are also likely to be added to the equipment list.

    2024 Tata Altroz: engines

Unfortunately, there's no word if the Altroz facelift will sport the Altroz Racer’s more powerful 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine or if the new 125hp, 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine that will make its debut on the Curvv will be seen on the hatchback. The refreshed Tata Altroz is likely to continue with the current model’s 88hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. A CNG option, with Tata's twin cylinder tech, is also expected on the 88hp engine.

The naturally aspirated engine is likely to retain the 5-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic options, while the turbo-petrol should have just the 5-speed manual gearbox. However, this test mule may also be one that is testing the 6-speed dual-clutch auto with the turbo-petrol engine, though no confirmation either way is possible at this time.
