In the lead-up to the launch of the second-generation Venue on November 4, Hyundai has revealed new details about the model. One of the biggest talking points is the new twin 12.3-inch connected curved screen setup, and it brings a new interface, which Hyundai is calling ccNC – Connected Car Navigation Cockpit. Let’s take a closer look at what all it packs, along with other niceties and safety features.

  1. New infotainment setup on Venue is powered by NVIDIA
  2. Feature additions include front ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS
  3. 6 airbags, ESC, hill-start assist among standard safety features

New Hyundai Venue infotainment details

The Venue’s new curved, panoramic display is powered by NVIDIA and packs features like onboard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and OTA updates. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster will also offer three different display themes (Classic, Modern and Simple), ADAS status and alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation prompts.

Other additions to the Venue include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and voice recognition capable of identifying five different languages – Hindi, English, Hinglish, Bengali and Tamil. The car will also come equipped with a wireless charger, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, a blind-spot monitor and a single-pane sunroof. A panoramic sunroof is still not on offer, although some rivals offer it.

New Hyundai Venue safety features

On the safety front, the biggest addition is the Level 2 ADAS suite, which brings in functions like smart cruise control with stop and go, forward collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, driver attention warning and rear parking collision avoidance assist. The outgoing Venue also featured ADAS, but that was a Level 1 suite using a camera-only setup; this latest one incorporates both camera and radar.

Standard safety features will include six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist control, electric parking brake with auto hold, all 4 disc brakes, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and a rollover sensor. Even the 360-degree surround-view camera is part of the standard safety suite.

New Hyundai Venue powertrain and specs

Mechanically, the new Venue remains identical to its predecessor. There are three engines on offer: a 120hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, an 83hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel. The base NA petrol engine will only come with a manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol will also get the option of a 7-speed DCT. Hyundai is also offering a torque converter automatic with the diesel this time, which was previously only available with a manual gearbox.

Bookings for the new Venue are ongoing for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The new Venue will continue to rival the likes of the Tata NexonMaruti BrezzaKia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
