Despite the hike, there's no visual or mechanical changes to the Maruti Swift, and it continues to be powered by the 90hp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that's mated to a 5-speed manual of 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The price hike for the current-gen Swift will be valid for just around a month as the next-gen Swift will launch by mid-May 2024. Carmakers usually hike prices of the outgoing model to soften the blow of the inherent price hike the new-gen model would bring.

Next-gen Maruti Swift launch in May 2024

The Swift will be one of Maruti's biggest launches in 2024, and it will be followed by the all-new Dzire compact sedan later this year. The new Maruti Swift (codename:YED) will feature a fresh yet familiar design, a new interior, and all-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

The new Swift will be equipped with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as six airbags that will likely be standard across the range. For the Swift, it remains to be seen if Maruti launches the next-gen car at the same price or at a higher price point than the outgoing one.
