Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Battery and range

The biggest change is the introduction of a larger 84.0kWh battery pack, which has replaced the outgoing model’s 72.6kWh unit. The previous model had an ARAI-certified range of 631km, while Hyundai now claims up to 690km for the updated version, making it one of the highest among EVs currently on sale in India.
The rear-wheel-drive EV with the 84kWh battery produces 229hp and 350Nm. It also supports DC fast charging, with a claimed 10-80 percent charge time of 18 minutes, while an 11kW AC charger takes around 7 hours 35 minutes.
Additionally, it gets vehicle-to-load function with an output of 3.6kW, which can power-up electrical appliances like laptops and mobiles. This function can be used via two ports – one located under the rear seats and another outside the car, near the charging port.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Exterior updates

The facelift retains the Ioniq 5’s overall design and Parametric Pixel styling but introduces a set of incremental updates. Up front, it gets a revised front section with blacked-out active air flap, a redesigned bumper, along with updated skid plates.
In profile, the changes are limited to a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates include a redesigned bumper, a new roof spoiler and a revised V-garnish lighting element, while the pixel-based lighting signature continues unchanged.

The updated model is also slightly larger, measuring 20mm longer than the outgoing version. The facelifted Ioniq 5 is offered in four exterior colours: Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey and Optic White, paired with an Obsidian Black interior theme.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift: Interior and features

Inside, the Ioniq 5 continues with a dual-screen layout comprising 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the instrument cluster. There’s a new three-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated 4-dot design and a heating function.
The cabin now features a black interior theme in place of the earlier white finish, which should be easier to maintain in everyday use. Hyundai has used fabrics made from recycled plastic and eco-friendly leather for upholstery.
The centre console has been revised and now includes additional physical controls for functions such as seat heating and ventilation. The wireless charging pad has been repositioned, along with updated cup holders.

On the technology front, the facelift adds Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), controller over-the-air (C-OTA) updates, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and in-car payment integration for EV charging. A new remote immobilisation feature has also been introduced via Hyundai’s Bluelink system. It also gets an 8-speaker Bose sound system and column-type shift-by-wire system.
Safety features include six airbags, an electronic parking brake (EPB), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Ioniq 5 also offers parking assist functions and a Level 2 ADAS suite, with additions such as parking collision-avoidance assist (rear) and side parking distance warning.
The Ioniq 5 competes with the BYD Sealion 7, BMW iX1 LWB, Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, Mini Countryman Electric and Volvo EC40.
