JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Tomahawk EV at a starting price of Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while prices under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme start at Rs 13.99 lakh. The first model in India built on MG’s ADAPT architecture, the Tomahawk EV gets a 69.2kWh battery with a claimed MIDC range of 517km and is available in five- and seven-seat configurations.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Price and variants

The Hector Tomahawk EV is priced from Rs 19.49 lakh to Rs 23.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The five-seat version, offered only in the Essence trim, is priced at Rs 22.99 lakh, while the seven-seat version is available in Excite, Exclusive and Essence trims.
MG is also offering the Hector Tomahawk EV under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, with prices starting at Rs 13.99 lakh. Buyers opting for BaaS pay a separate battery rental of Rs 4.90 per km. MG has not disclosed variant-wise BaaS prices. The prices are introductory and applicable to limited units only.
The Hector Tomahawk EV will primarily rival the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV, both of which have three-row seating. Meanwhile, the five-seat version will compete against the Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Exterior
The Hector Tomahawk EV gets LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and an illuminated MG logo positioned between them. The lower section of the bumper has a closed-off treatment, while the SUV gets 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails and black cladding around the wheel arches and lower door sill area. A powered tailgate is also offered.
At the rear, the Tomahawk EV features wraparound LED tail-lamps and a sculpted bumper. The SUV is 4,745mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,770mm tall, with a 2,810mm wheelbase and 230mm ground clearance. The five-seat version gets a 610-litre boot, while the seven-seat variants offer 192 litres with all three rows in use and 528 litres with the third row folded.
The Hector Tomahawk EV is offered in Khaki Green, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Celadon Blue and Pearl White colour options.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Interior and features
The Tomahawk EV gets a minimalist cabin with a brown-and-black dashboard and extensive use of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door pads. The layout uses few physical controls, with several functions operated through the touchscreen and gesture controls. The 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen sits above the centre console, while an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display provides key driving information. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and gesture controls for the air-conditioning and audio system are also offered.
The cabin gets features such as ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, 256-colour ambient lighting and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system. Rear passengers get roof-mounted air-conditioning vents, sunblinds, LED reading lamps, dual USB Type-C charging ports and a centre armrest with cupholders. The driver’s seat gets memory and auto-retract functionality. The SUV also offers Nap, Camp, Energise, Pro Pet, Valet and Quiet cabin modes.
Six airbags are standard across all variants of the Hector Tomahawk EV. The SUV also gets a 360-degree camera setup with transparent-chassis and wheel-view functions. The ADAS suite with Level 2 capability offers 11 functions, including lane-departure warning and prevention, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and high-beam assist, among others.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Battery and range
The Tomahawk EV gets a 69.2kWh battery paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 204hp and 310Nm. MG claims a 517km MIDC range and a 0-100kph time of 8.2sec.
The EV uses a CCS2 charging connection and supports DC fast charging at up to 90kW. MG claims a 30-80 percent charge in around 35 minutes using a 90kW DC charger. With a 7.4kW AC charger, a 10-100 percent charge takes around 12.5 hours. A portable charger that plugs into a 15A socket is also offered.
The Tomahawk EV also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functions. MG says V2L can power compatible external devices and appliances, while V2V allows the SUV to charge another electric vehicle.
