Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq at a starting price of Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV, earlier called the BE 6, gets a revised variant line-up, a 70kWh battery option, additional connected features and a triple-screen dashboard on select variants. Mahindra has also introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing for the range. Deliveries will begin on August 26. Meanwhile, the erstwhile Formula E Edition has been revamped as the BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition.

Prices for the BE 6 Sporteq range from Rs 19.45 lakh to Rs 26.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV rivals the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG Windsor. Mahindra has also introduced BaaS as an option with the BE 6 Sporteq. The BaaS option is available only with the 59kWh battery pack on the ONE and TWO variants. Under this scheme, buyers purchase the vehicle separately and pay a battery subscription charge of Rs 3.75 per km.
Mahindra says the BaaS pricing is based on an assumed usage of 60km per day and an eight-year battery loan tenure. The prices exclude statutory charges such as road tax, insurance and TCS.

The BE 6 Sporteq carries over the outgoing BE 6’s exterior design. The key change is a ‘Sporteq’ badge and the introduction of the Launch Edition, which gets an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior paint finish. Depending on the variant, the SUV is available with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, customisable LED tail-lamp text displays, flush-fitting door handles and a fixed panoramic glass roof.

The biggest changes are inside the cabin. Higher variants now get a triple 12.3-inch display layout, similar to the XEV 9e and XEV 9S. It also gets a redesigned dashboard that replaces the earlier halo-like loop around the driver with a cleaner horizontal layout, creating additional storage space and improving access to the wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports. The Launch Edition is further distinguished by an exclusive Full Racing Tan interior theme featuring matching upholstery and dashboard trim. The Formula E Edition, meanwhile, continues with the earlier dual-screen dashboard layout.
The BE 6 Sporteq introduces six new TEQ technology suites centred around connectivity, personalisation and vehicle functions. These include TEQ_Me, which automatically recognises the driver and loads a personalised user profile, TEQ_Talk with Google Gemini integration, and TEQ_xting, which allows owners to display personalised messages on the LED tailgate display. TEQ_Drive adds functions such as Custom Drive Mode, Tribe Drive, Drift Mode, Acceleration Boost and the new Revive SOS feature. Mahindra says Revive SOS can provide enough charge to drive up to 13km to the nearest charging station after the battery reaches zero and can be used up to five times during the battery’s lifetime. The company has also confirmed that Google Gemini integration will be rolled out to existing Mahindra electric SUVs via an over-the-air update from January 2027.
Apart from these additions, the BE 6 Sporteq continues to offer features such as a panoramic glass roof, a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree camera, a head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, auto park assist, NFC digital key and wireless phone charging, depending on the variant.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq battery and charging
The BE 6 Sporteq is offered with three battery pack options: 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh. Power outputs stand at 231hp for the 59kWh version, 245hp for the 70kWh battery and 286hp for the 79kWh version, with all three producing 380Nm and driving the rear wheels.
Claimed MIDC range is 548km for the 59kWh battery, 651km for the 70kWh battery and 683km for the 79kWh version. Charging capability varies across the battery packs. The 59kWh battery supports up to 140kW DC fast charging, the 70kWh battery up to 160kW and the 79kWh battery up to 180kW. Mahindra claims all three can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes using their respective maximum-rated DC chargers. An optional 7.2kW or 11.2kW AC wall charger is also available, with full charging times ranging from 6 hours to 11.7 hours, depending on the battery pack and charger selected.
