2026 Renault Duster teased with an India specific design changes

Ahead of its reveal on January 26, 2026, the new Renault Duster has been teased in India again, this time with glimpses of its exterior design. While not much is visible, the teaser confirms that the India-spec model will have certain design changes compared to the globally available Duster.

  1. Will feature eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs over the headlights
  2. A connected LED tail-light will be offered as well

2026 Renault Duster: What could be spotted?

Teaser shows global model’s silhouette with new design elements

The new teaser video shows the Duster under wraps, with the lighting elements visible through the cover. One can see the eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), which will also function as turn indicators. The global-spec model gets Y-shaped units instead.

The teaser also reveals connected LED tail-lights linked by a central light bar – commonly seen on modern SUVs. In contrast, the global-spec model features distinctive Y-shaped wraparound LED tail-lights. A rear wiper and the new Renault logo that debuted with the Triber can also be seen.

While the interior is yet to be revealed, the overall design is likely to remain largely unchanged, though expect the addition of soft-touch materials on key touchpoints to enhance the premiumness of the India-specific model.

2026 Renault Duster: Expected features

Features and safety suite expected to be the same as global-spec model

Features offered in the globally available Duster are expected in the upcoming model as well. These include a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a wireless phone charger. A panoramic sunroof is also likely.

As for safety equipment, it could get 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

2026 Renault Duster: Expected powertrain options

Will launch with a petrol engine; strong-hybrid option to follow later

Renault is likely to offer the Duster with petrol-only powertrains at launch, including the 156hp 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit from the global-spec model. Another could be the Kiger’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine for the lower variants of the Duster, but with a slight bump in power.

Sources at Renault have confirmed that the SUV is also set to receive a strong-hybrid petrol engine, which we expect to be introduced around 12 months after the Duster’s India launch. While there is no confirmation yet on the hybrid powertrain that will be offered in India, the Duster sold overseas gets a 149hp 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine option.

The India-spec Renault Duster is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh and will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.

Prices are ex-showroom, India.
