The Hyundai Exter facelift continues with the previous model’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83hp and 114Nm, along with a CNG option that puts out 69hp and 95Nm. The petrol engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), while the CNG is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Notably, the CNG variants come with factory-fitted dual cylinders that do not compromise boot space. For context, the petrol variants have a 391-litre boot space, which drops to 255 litres on the CNG variants.

Which Hyundai Exter facelift variant should you buy?

HX4, HX4+ good for budget buyers, HX8 recommended over HX10

The Exter’s mid-spec HX4 and HX4+ offer a good balance between features and price in the sub-compact SUV's line-up. The HX4 gets essential convenience features like an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity, rear AC vents, rear parking camera with sensors, and powered ORVMs. The HX4+ enhances this suite with a single-pane sunroof. However, if you want your Exter to be loaded with features, upgrading to the one-below-top HX8 trim is recommended. This trim offers all the amenities like auto headlights, automatic climate control, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger and leatherette-wrapped elements.

Prices are ex-showroom, India.
