The newly launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the carmaker’s second midsize SUV, joining the Grand Vitara that has been on sale since 2022. Unlike the Grand Vitara, the Victoris will be sold via Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships as their flagship model. Regardless, both SUVs are fighting for a slice of the same midsize SUV pie.

To that end, let’s take a look at the features offered in the range-topping trims of the Victoris and Grand Vitara – ZXI+(O) and Alpha+(O), respectively – to ascertain which SUV packs in more value for money.

Explore full specs, features, and a price breakdown in our Victoris vs Grand Vitara comparison.

On the powertrain front, the Victoris and Grand Vitara are exactly the same owing to their petrol, strong hybrid and CNG options. However, the CNG powertrain is not available with the top-spec trims on either SUV, and the Grand Vitara Alpha+(O) trims aren't offered with the 1.5-litre petrol engine. Therefore, the Victoris affords more choice to top trim buyers, and one-ups the Grand Vitara by offering all-wheel drive in its petrol-auto variants.

Victoris is the more frugal choice.

Though they share their powertrains, the Victoris does deliver greater claimed mileage figures than the Grand Vitara across the board. In fact, the Victoris strong hybrid is now the most fuel-efficient car in India thanks to its staggering 28.65kpl claimed mileage.
