The Hyundai Bayon directly rivals the Maruti Victoris in the mid-size SUV segment, with both offering petrol engines paired with manual and automatic gearboxes. This makes their claimed mileage figures worth comparing. The Victoris also gets hybrid and CNG powertrain options, although the Bayon is set to add the latter option in January 2027. Before comparing their mileage figures, let us look at how they stack up in terms of powertrain specs.
Hyundai Bayon vs Maruti Victoris: Powertrain specs
Both SUVs get 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines, but the Bayon produces 12hp and 5Nm more than the Victoris. The Bayon gets a 6-speed manual and a CVT, while the Maruti offers a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. However, the Victoris also offers the choice of all-wheel drive (AWD) with its petrol engine, something that the Bayon doesn’t offer. A hybrid option is also absent from the Bayon lineup.
With the powertrain details covered, let’s compare the fuel-efficiency figures claimed by the respective carmakers.
