Yes, the Alcazar gets a 7-seat layout in all trim levels, with the top-spec Signature variants also offering a 6-seat layout with second row captain chairs. While space in the first and second rows is plentiful, our Alcazar review notes that the third row of the SUV is quite cramped. Legroom and headroom are both insufficient for taller adults, leaving the Alcazar’s third row best-suited for children.
What is the difference between Hyundai Alcazar and Creta?
Alcazar is larger than Creta in every way
The Alcazar is essentially a stretched version of the Hyundai Creta, outsizing it by 230mm in length, 10mm in width, 75mm in height, and 150mm in wheelbase. They’re powered by the same turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, but the Creta does offer an additional 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit paired with either a manual or CVT gearbox.

It’s also worth noting that the Alcazar gets some styling tweaks to better differentiate itself from the Creta. On the outside, these changes include an H-shaped connected DRL strip, redesigned fascia, different bumpers, larger 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, and an overhauled rear end with an H-shaped light bar. The differences are much milder inside, with only a dark blue and tan colour scheme for the Alcazar.
Should you buy Hyundai Alcazar or Mahindra XUV700?
As mentioned previously, the XUV700 starting price is about Rs 50,000 cheaper than that of the Alcazar, but if you’re looking to go for either SUV’s fully-loaded variants, the Hyundai is more affordable to the tune of Rs 4.15 lakh. Both SUVs trade blows in terms of features and overall cabin comfort, but the XUV700’s third row does offer a bit more space than that of the Alcazar.
XUV700 is substantially more powerful
The XUV700 is the clear winner in the performance department, as it comes equipped with either a 185hp, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel mill or a 200hp, 2.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. This makes the XUV700 the most powerful three-row SUV you can buy, so if you’re willing to sacrifice some fuel efficiency for performance and driving pleasure, the Mahindra is the obvious choice over the Alcazar.
