Tata Punch has emerged as the bestselling car in India in the January-July 2024 period, and it has managed to beat the Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai Creta that finished second and third, respectively. One of the reasons for the Punch's success could be its multiple powertrain options that include petrol, CNG and EV.

  1. Punch emerges as the bestseller with 1.26 lakh units sold
  2. Wagon R finishes second with 1.16 lakh units sold
  3. Creta and Brezza come third and fourth, respectively

Tata Motors managed to sell about 1.26 lakh units of the Punch sub-compact SUV, as per data released by JATO Dynamics India. It was revealed that the electric and CNG powertrains made up 47 percent of the Punch’s total sales. The Wagon R finished second, with 1.16 lakh units sold from January-July 2024. The hatchback managed to overtake the SUV in February and July, and in the latter, it was by a mere 70 units.

It should be noted that the Wagon R has been India's top-selling passenger car for three consecutive fiscal yearswhich makes it an even more commendable feat for the Punch.
