Tata Aeris specifications

The Tata Aeris comes with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol that is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit. It is the same engine as the Tigor's and the Tiago's, and power goes to the front wheels. As per our review, it is peppy enough for everyday driving, but it sounds coarse above 2,500rpm.

Key facts for the Aeris:

• The 1,199cc petrol engine makes 86hp and 113Nm. On CNG, output drops to 76hp and 97Nm.
• Both petrol and CNG get a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, except the Smart trim, which is manual only. The AMT gets a rotary gear selector, a creep function and paddle shifters.
• It measures 3,995mm long, 1,684mm wide and 1,532mm tall, with a 2,450mm wheelbase and 170mm of ground clearance.
• The suspension uses MacPherson struts at the front and a twist beam at the rear, with disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear.
• The Smart and Pure run on 14-inch steel wheels. The Pure+ petrol gets 15-inch styled steel wheels, the Creative and Accomplished petrol get 15-inch alloys, and the CNG versions use 14-inch wheels.
• The petrol tank holds 35 litres, and the petrol version's boot offers 419 litres of space.
