Trending Questions on Maruti Suzuki Fronx - Answered by Autocar Experts
I am 72 years old. I have driven a Maruti 800, Esteem, Honda City, Civic, Jazz, and now an i20 (all manuals). I want to purchase a new car as my i20 is completing 15 years. My wife also drives occasionally. My monthly usage is about 200-300 km of city driving. I want a comfortable car that my wife can also drive. My options are Honda Amaze, Toyota Fronx, and i20 (all manuals). Please suggest which car to go for.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx would serve you well. The car has an SUV-like higher riding stance, and this means getting in and out is easy, and it offers you a good view outside.
The controls, like the steering and clutchcare also light, and it makes for a relaxed drive. Ride quality is also very good, and we would suggest you skip the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine and opt for the 1.2-litre unit. It delivers sufficiently for everyday motoring and is also very refined, and costs a good deal less than the turbo versions.
Confused between Punch AMT and Fronx AMT. First-time buyer, need an automatic car only. City vs highway usage is 60:40. Kindly suggest in terms of reliability, as I plan to keep this car for at least 10 years.
Hi, I am planning to buy my first automatic car. It will be used mostly within Bangalore city, and occasionally, I will drive to my native place. Could you please suggest a good family car within a budget of Rs 10 lakh?
Which is the best automatic petrol SUV to buy today with a reasonably good average (15 km/l or more) under ₹15 lakhs?
There are not many petrol automatic cars, at any price point, that would do upwards of 15kpl these days. Turbocharged cars, especially, require extremely careful driving to achieve high fuel efficiency numbers, and the automatic gearbox reduces these chances, as the gear shifts are not in your control. If fuel efficiency is your ultimate concern, we would recommend a good naturally aspirated petrol engine, in a small, relatively light car. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx 1.2 petrol AMT is a good option, but its automated manual gearbox is not very smooth, and its engine is not very powerful. As a trade-off, you could also try the Maruti Suzuki Brezza 1.5 petrol AT, which has more power and a smoother torque converter automatic. But will deliver slightly lower - but still very good - fuel economy.
My usage is strictly within Kolkata city, with almost no highway travel. I am not worried about fuel economy, but want a sub-4-metre SUV that is reliable, easy to maintain (spares should be quickly available), and offers very good ride quality and features, especially a strong infotainment system.
I would like to buy automatic petrol car with 10 lakh budget. Should be economical, comfortable, easy to maintain. I mostly drive on sundays around 20-40 km. Please suggest a car for my needs. Will be disposing my maruti Dzire.
Since you are used to the ease-of-ownership and good economy from the Maruti Dzire, it would be ideal to look for an upgrade in the Maruti family. The Fronx in Delta Plus guise will be a good option for relaxed city driving. It features an AMT gearbox that takes away the hassle of a manual gearbox and the efficiency is strong for an automatic at around the 14kpl.
What's also nice on the Fronx is the ride quality and seat comfort that makes driving around pothole-ridden city roads a lot nicer. It gets a good set of features, wireless connectivity, LED headlamps and rear AC vents. Being a Maruti, it will also hold its value well, and you can trade in your Dzire and get a much better price in exchange bonus.
I am looking for a car under 8-9 lakhs. At home, we have a 2015 Hyundai i10 Grand and a 2018 Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Both are manual and petrol. Now I am going to purchase a car for myself in Bangalore. Usage will particularly be on weekends with overall mix of (40% city and 60% outstation trips). I was willing to explore new automaker beyond Maruti and Hyundai. Mahindra 3XO and Skoda Kylaq has impressed me but their base variants doesn't offer the value for money. At this point I am in a confusion whether to go back to Maruti to get the value for money and reduce overall ownership cost.
In your budget, you will end up with the absolute base variants of the Mahindra 3XO and Skoda Kylaq. So, compared to cars with a lower starting price, they can feel a bit basic in terms of features and equipment.
That said, even in their base trims, both SUVs offer effortless performance, a more sophisticated driving experience thanks to their strong ride and handling, and in the case of the 3XO, excellent interior space.
We’d recommend considering the recently launched Skoda Kylaq Classic Plus, as it adds a good mix of essential and premium features like a single pane sunroof, 16 inch steel wheels with covers, cruise control, an auto dimming IRVM, and rain sensing wipers.
If you want to stay within the Maruti Suzuki family, you can look at the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta Plus. It offers more features, but it may not feel like a meaningful upgrade over the Maruti Suzuki Baleno you already own.
I wish to sell my Swift and buy the 2026 Brezza or 2026 Fronx. Between the two, which is the better overall option?
I own an Altroz DCT but want to replace it due to mileage issues. My running is almost 400 km per month, mostly within the city. I want an SUV in the range of around ₹12 lakh, preferably an automatic. Please suggest.
I am planning to buy a new car after selling my existing Celerio ZXi and am confused between the Hyundai i20 NA manual and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx 1.2 manual. My usage is around 80% city and 20% highway, and it also includes hilly terrain, steep climbs, and rough rural roads. While I am inclined toward the i20, my main concern is fuel efficiency. What is its real-world mileage, especially on hilly and rough roads? My budget is ₹10 lakh. Please guide me accordingly.
Given your requirements, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx would be a better choice, as it offers higher fuel efficiency. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is efficient and also has enough performance for the hills. What is also better on the Fronx is the ride quality, which is an advantage over rough terrain.
The Delta+ version also gets a decent set of features, including LED headlamps, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and more. Our pick between the two would be the Maruti Fronx.
