Honda Amaze FAQs
Considering a five-year loan tenure, 9 percent interest rate and a downpayment of Rs 1 lakh, the EMI for the Honda Amaze's base variant is Rs 16,192, which will vary depending on your location and bank.
The cheapest variant of the Honda Amaze to get an automatic gearbox is the V CVT.
The one-year (10,000km) maintenance cost of the Honda Amaze ranges between Rs 2,606 and Rs 3,832.
The VX CVT variant of the Honda Amaze offers the convenience of an automatic gearbox with usable everyday performance. The addition of a better audio system, more safety tech and more comfort-oriented features make this variant our pick if you want an Amaze for around Rs 11 lakh.
Questions you may find useful
I am a first time driver looking for an AMT car. I have shortlisted Hyundai Exter, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. I like Fronx the most but compared to Exter and Amaze, its basic features are missing. Further, I have found some visibility issue while driving in nearby area because bonet comes in my near vision. Exter is good but I have heard negative reviews about it. Amaze is good too for AMT but I am little confused whether I should go for sedan in today's market. I would be mostly driving on weekends so my driving will be mix of city and highway for trips. I stay in Mumbai and I personally don't like Punch and Brezza. While Punch is for space and Brezza is for features and build quality in comparison to other car. I am not particularly sure about Nexon AMT's performance. I need your guidance about a car that will be suitable for me in a budget of Rs. 9 to 10 lakh.
Go for the Honda Amaze, which is possibly the best automatic car in this price range for your needs. The biggest advantage is its smooth CVT gearbox, which is far superior to the more basic AMTs that are offered by the other cars in this price range. That gearbox is mated to a smooth, refined and fuel efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine that's proven and reliable. Its compact dimensions make it easy to drive, and Honda's famous attention to space management and ergonomics mean it feels like a big car on the inside and is easy to drive too. Moreover, for your occasional highway trips, the 89hp, four-cylinder engine has good power for cruising and overtaking. There's no harm in choosing a sedan at all, and you should buy the car that suits you and not the market. The Exter is a good alternative, with a higher seating that makes it easy to see out of, and you will get a higher variant in your budget, although compared to the Amaze, it feels like a smaller car from a lower segment. The engine isn't as punchy as the Honda's and the AMT gearbox is nowhere as smooth, and while it might be sufficient in the city, it doesn't inspire confidence on the highway. Overall, the Amaze is the best bet for your needs.
Amaze's CVT still feels buttery smooth even after two years of daily city driving. Was worried about the usual CVT complaints before buying but haven't experienced any of it so far.
Hi, we have shortlisted two cars but are unable to decide which one to finalise: the Honda Amaze CVT ZX and Hyundai i20 IVT Asta (O). Both my wife and I will drive the car, so we want good rear-seat comfort and space. Our daily usage is around 50km. Of the 365 days in a year, around 65 days will involve highway driving, while the remaining 300 days will be city driving, usually in traffic in Chennai. We are a family of five, with four adults and one eight-year-old child. We have previously owned a Ford Fiesta and Santro Xing, so we are comfortable with both sedans and hatchbacks. Which one would you recommend?
Go for the Honda Amaze ZX CVT. With 5 family members, including 4 adults, rear seat space and comfort become a priority, and the Amaze offers a more accommodating rear bench and better legroom than the i20. The CVT is smooth and well-suited to your daily 50km city commute in Chennai traffic, while the Amaze’s boot is a big advantage for your 65 days of highway travel. The Hyundai i20 Asta (O) IVT is a great hatchback with a premium cabin and a feature-rich package, but it simply cannot match the rear seat space and overall practicality of the Amaze for a family of your size. Plus, it is starting to feel dated now and is not as well-equipped as the Honda car mentioned above, which was just launched last year. Since you are already comfortable with both sedans and hatchbacks, the Amaze is the more sensible long-term choice for your usage pattern.
