Hi. We are a family of four. I own a Honda Brio S MT from 2015, which has clocked 1.15 lakh km. I also use my brother’s Honda City V MT i-VTEC and my father’s Celerio AMT. My usage is very limited, around 15-20 km in city traffic and, fortnightly, 50-70 km between the city and village. Occasionally, I may take long-distance trips. I am looking for an automatic car to replace the Brio. Which is best suited to my usage pattern among the available vehicles?

I want to buy an automatic car and drive about 50 km daily in the city, with 3–4 highway trips a year. I have shortlisted the Nexon Pure+ AMT, XUV 3XO AT, Brezza AT, Amaze VX CVT, and Fronx Delta AMT. Mileage and build quality are important to me. Please advise which one would suit me best.
Of your shortlisted options, the Honda Amaze CVT is the best bet. Its 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine is among the more fuel-efficient of the cars selected here, with only the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta AMT offering higher mileage.
However, the Fronx AMT gearbox is not as smooth as the Amaze's CVT, which will be beneficial in city driving. The Amaze, like all Honda cars, has good build quality, with high-quality materials and great fit and finish.

My Honda City is now end of life, and I have shortlisted the Nexon Smart Plus AMT, Glanza S AT, Amaze V CVT, and Swift VXi AGS. These cars belong to different segments, but this will be my second car as I already own a sedan. It will be used mostly for city driving, and I don't want to spend much. Please advise which one to choose, or if I should stretch a bit and go for the base Kia Syros. I am also open to CNG.

I'm planning to buy a new automatic car, with a budget of 12 lakh and not more than that. Suggestions required.
We would suggest you look at the Skoda Kylaq, the gearbox is a smooth torque converter unit, and the engine is peppy enough. The only issue is that rear space is tight. If this is important for you, then you can add the Honda Amaze to your shortlist. The CVT autobox isn't as smooth as the unit on the Kylaq, but its still better than an automated manual (AMT) gearbox.
With the Honda Amaze, you will find a reliable and spacious car and the sedan body style will give you more boot space too.

How is the Honda Amaze CVT in your view? I don’t see many posts recommending this sedan.
The Honda Amaze CVT is a very good car for the money. While the dimensions are small, it delivers good cabin space for passengers, and there's enough room in the boot as well. The CVT gearbox is a highlight and delivers a far smoother experience than you get in cars of a similar price that typically use an AMT gearbox. It is a good choice and one we readily recommend.

I’m thinking about buying the Honda Amaze CVT (automatic) for my family, but my usage will be very low: only about 100 km/month. Is it a sensible choice, given fuel costs, reliability, and value? What are the pros and cons?
The Honda Amaze CVT is a good choice. Its CVT transmission is smooth, and there's enough room in the cabin for your family to sit in comfort.

Between the Honda Amaze and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, we would suggest going for the Dzire, as it offers a more comfortable ride quality, and the seats are more supportive. It is also the better-equipped of the two.
The only real advantage the Honda has over the Maruti Suzuki is its polished CVT automatic compared to the basic AMT on the Dzire, which matters only if you are considering an automatic.

The Hyundai i20, the Sportz (O) IVT variant, is a great choice and one we recommend to many buyers. At this price point, apart from the Honda Amaze, it’s the only car that offers a smooth CVT transmission, making city driving effortless.
The cabin of this Hyundai car is comfortable, with enough space for four adults, and the large, practical boot makes it suitable for occasional highway use, too.

If you want a polished driving experience, we suggest choosing between the Hyundai i20 (Magna IVT variant) or the Honda Amaze (V CVT variant). Both of these Hyundai and Honda cars offer a premium experience thanks to their CVT transmissions, which are smooth, user-friendly, and efficient.

Please suggest a good sub-4m car with a CVT gearbox, a four-cylinder engine, and high ground clearance. It will mainly be used for city driving with occasional highway trips.
The Honda Amaze is the only option with a four-cylinder engine and a CVT gearbox. It is smooth and has Honda's reknowned reliability and enough ground clearance despite being a sedan.
However, if you must have an SUV, you will have to stick to the 3-cylinder engines. The Renault Kiger is a good city car that gets a feature-rich cabin, new-age design, and good ground clearance. The turbo-petrol engine in this Renault car is powerful, and the smooth CVT gearbox is great for the city.
