Volkswagen is reported to be in advanced talks with some of its competitors concerning the German carmaker’s modular MEB platform. This will mark an expansion of the partnership that VW already has with Ford to share the all-electric platform.

Volkswagen’s strategy head Michael Jost, speaking to a German paper said that he wants the platform to become a standard for more than just the VW Group.

Earlier this month, we had reported that Volkswagen and Ford have entered a ‘global alliance’ that will see them pool resources to develop autonomous technology and provide Ford the use of VW’s modular MEB electric vehicle platform.
