Ahead of its launch on June 30, Tata Motors has now given us a complete look at the exterior design of the upcoming Sierra EV. It remains largely unchanged from its ICE-powered counterpart, although it gets a slightly different fascia through varied use of colours. Mechanically, the Seirra EV is expected to be similar to the Harrier EV, sharing even its AWD configuration.
- Sierra EV gets Tata’s typical ICE-to-EV design changes
- Expected to be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery options
- Prices likely to range between Rs 18-25 lakh, ex-showroom
Tata Sierra EV exterior design
The Sierra EV takes an aesthetic approach similar to all of Tata’s existing ICE-to-EV conversions, where the EV gets a blanked off grille and has a slightly different looking face compared to the ICE version. Changes to the profile and at the rear are very limited.

Likewise, the Sierra EV gets a body-coloured blanked-off grille in place of the regular Sierra’s blacked-out functional grille. The lighting elements remain exactly the same, but the EV misses out on the ‘Sierra’ branding just below the LED light bar that’s present on the ICE Sierra. Lower down, the bumper has a gloss black finish and a faux silver skid plate on the chin. In essence, the colorways have been reversed here on the Sierra EV.
In profile and at the rear, the only differentiators are the ‘Sierra.ev’ badging on the front doors and the tail gate; even the 19-inch alloy wheels remain unchanged. It’s, however, likely to get new colour options, like this new silver shade seen here.

Tata Sierra EV interior and features
Tata has not revealed the interior yet, but expect similarities to continue inside the cabin, too. The triple-screen setup – comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger screen – is likely on the higher trims, whereas lower variants could get a dual-screen setup and a head-up display (HUD). Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a premium audio system and drive modes.
Tata Sierra EV powertrain, battery and range

Mechanically, the Sierra EV is expected to be related to the Harrier EV. Therefore, it will likely be underpinned by Tata’s acti.ev+ architecture and carry over the Harrier EV’s 65kWh and 75kWh battery options. Tata recently also confirmed that the Sierra EV will be offered with all-wheel drive, likely on the top-spec trim; lower variants are expected to come in a rear-wheel drive configuration. The Sierra will also be smaller and lighter than the Harrier EV, so its range can be expected to be greater than the latter’s 627km maximum claimed range.
The Sierra EV will slot right between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s rapidly expanding EV portfolio. Expected to be priced in the Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) ballpark, it will rival the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and Maruti e Vitara.
