  2. Tata has introduced exclusive ‘Ultra’ top trims for the petrol Harrier and Safari

Tata Harrier and Safari petrol engine specifications

Gets the turbo-petrol that debuted on the Sierra but with more power

Tata Harrier and Safari petrol specifications, variants revealed

Powering the Harrier and Safari’s petrol variants is the 1.5-litre Hyperion engine that debuted on the Sierra SUV and was developed in-house by Tata Motors. For the Harrier and Safari, this turbo-petrol unit has been tuned to produce more power and torque: 170hp and 280Nm, an increase of 10hp and 25Nm over the Sierra, as these SUVs are larger and heavier. Interestingly, the Harrier and Safari petrol versions match their diesel counterparts in power.

The petrol-powered Harrier is available in seven trims, namely Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X+, Fearless X, Fearless X+ and the new Fearless Ultra top trim. Notably, the petrol-exclusive ‘Fearless Ultra’ brings in features such as a Samsung 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Dolby Atmos, a digital interior rearview mirror (IRVM) with an in-built dash cam, a white-and-brown dual-tone interior theme, on-board navigation, a memory function for the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), a wash function for the reversing cameras, and a 65W type-C port. The SUV is also available in Dark, Stealth and Red Dark versions, which get cosmetic upgrades. The Harrier now comes with 19-inch alloy wheels in the Fearless X Dark, Fearless X+ Dark, Fearless X+ Stealth and Fearless Ultra Red Dark trims.

Meanwhile, the Safari trims include Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X+, Accomplished X, Accomplished X+ and a new ‘Accomplished Ultra’ top trim. The petrol-exclusive Accomplished Ultra gets feature additions identical to those of the Harrier’s Fearless Ultra trim, except that the Safari gets a gold-and-white dual-tone interior theme and is already available with 19-inch alloy wheels. Like the Harrier, the Safari also comes in Dark, Stealth and Red Dark versions.
